Applying for two visas at the same time - UKVI

Hi there,

 

Long story short - change of circumstances in Thailand, decided to go back to UK

 

Priority family visa is taking 35-40 days at the moment. Submitting this on the 27th in trendy. They have a service to retain passport

 

Urgently need to get back as a family, is there an issue applying for a tourist visa beforehand, going on that, and coming back to activate / stamp the wife visa once approved.

 

Any responses before I call home office today appreciated
