Fire Transformer Fire at Bang Chalong Housing Complex Triggers Chaos – Six Injured in Escape
Picture courtesy of Amarin. Panic erupted at a low-income housing complex in Bang Chalong, Bang Phli District, on the morning of 29 May, after a large transformer caught fire, sending thick smoke through the building and forcing terrified residents to leap from floors to escape. Six people were injured in the incident, though none critically. At approximately 11:30, Bang Phli Police Station received an emergency call reporting a transformer explosion near Building 115 in the Baan Eua-Arthorn Suvarnabhumi 2 project, commonly referred to as Baan Eua-Arthorn Bang Chalong. A massive plume of smoke was seen billowing from the structure, prompting a swift response from local fire crews and rescue units. According to officials, the blaze began with an electrical short circuit in the outdoor transformer located beside the building. The fire then spread to electrical wiring and fittings inside the building, triggering additional short circuits and power failures. Smoke rapidly filled the interior, leading to panic among the residents. Several occupants were seen jumping from the building to escape the heavy smoke, while others fell down staircases in the chaos. Emergency personnel treated six individuals for injuries ranging from sprains to bruises. All victims were transported to nearby hospitals and authorities confirmed that none suffered serious harm. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread to other parts of the complex. An investigation is now underway to determine the precise cause of the electrical failure and whether safety standards had been adequately maintained. Adapted by Asean Now from Amarin 2025-05-30. -

Things that annoy you in Thailand
Ok, I agree with the pollution, but where I stay, it´s on a fairly acceptable level. After that, we not have problem with noise nor neighbours burning things here. Burning happens maybe on 2 occasions per year and noise 2-3 times. That is totally acceptable. -
