Quote from todays Sports section of the BKK Post.

"Real are level at the top on 72 points with Barcelona, but ahead of the Catalans on the Spanish direct results system, having taken four points off Barca this season. This means that Real will be Champions tomorrow- for the first time since 2003-in the unlikely case that they win in Zaragoza and that Barca lose at home to Espanyol- and Seville only draw away to Mallorca.

What does that suppose to mean. They've stated that all Madrid have to do is win to take the title. The next sentance makes it even more stoopid.

" We are not thinking about being Champions tomorrow" said Real midfielder Guti on Wednesday.

" Our idea is to win in Zaragoza, then let the other results take care of them selves"

Week in, week out there are pieces in the BKK post Sports section, that dumbfound, confuse and lead the common man up the garden path, with false reports, misprints, repeats ( some times going against what is first stated) & just plain nonsense. Advertising matches that are not being played, and not advertising some matches that are.

Where is the editor? Does he just sit back, take the money and let his minions get on with it? Or is it that he's just as illiterate as the rest of his motley crew (crue)?

I think the Sports Editor is Roger Chrutchley...most of the BKK Post Sports articles, except for personal editorials, are rehashes of Associated Press/Reuters, etc., so I don't see how they could go wrong that much...

Also, isn't it common for players/managers to play down such moments, in order to not increase the pressure on the team? That would seem to be what they're trying to do in the above declarations...

Read it again........after looking at it a few times I made sense out of it. It is supposed to read " In the unlikely case that they LOSE at Zaragoza. (Not win at Zaragoza.) they will still be champs if Barca lose and Seville draw.

I read it as meaning they will be champions tomorrow if they win at Zaragoza, Barcalona lose their game and Seville fail to win. All three things have got to happen for Real Madrid to become champions tomorrow. Thats the way it looks if you look at the league table (they play 38 games).

1 Real Madrid 36 11 4 3 29 17 11 2 5 32 20 24 72

2 Barcelona 36 14 4 0 39 10 7 5 6 32 20 41 72

3 Sevilla 36 15 2 1 41 12 6 5 7 23 22 30 70

Wrong........if all three win, then Real Madrid are still Champions. If Real lose, Barcelona lose and Seville draw, then Real are still Champions.

If Real Lose, Barca Lose and Seville win, then they are Champions.

I guess with readers like the ones that have replied, then it doesn't really matter what they write.

I suggest you put on your thick reading glasses (they probably go well with the thick head you must have for writing the above, utterly BS reply) and go over that paragraph again.

IF ALL 3 WIN, REAL ARE NOT CHAMPIONS BECAUSE THERE'S ANOTHER ROUND OF MATCHES! IF REAL WIN, BARCA LOSE AND SEVILLA LOSE OR DRAW, THEN REAL BECOMES CHAMPIONS...ALL 3 CONDITIONS MUST BE MET, HENCE WHY IT'S DEEMED UNLIKELY.

Oh dear...............................please accept my humble apologies. I thought this was the final day of the season.I feel like a right :o

Still, I am even more sure now that the Sports editor is to blame for allowing huge words like ' penultimate' into the article.

And the Bangkok Post were right in saying that combination of results was highly unlikely..........all three teams drew. So I'll predict the Bangkok Posts predition for next week ' Real Madrid must do no worse than both Barcalona and Seville in the LAST round on matches to garantee bocoming champions' :o:D:D
