UBON RATCHATHANI, Dec 27 (TNA) – The northeastern province recorded its first Omicron case, an Australian man who arrived on Dec 11 through the Test & Go entry program and met his girlfriend in Amnat Charoen province.

The Office of the 10th Public Health Region reported that the Australian man, 49, arrived from Australia and passed the Test & Go entry program without quarantine. He tested negative for COVID-19 after arrival.

Did he test negative on his day 6? I'm sure a lot of these cases in foreigners are been picked up in Thailand.

Obviously he was infected inside Thailand due to the period of time that has passed since his negative test on arrival.

I guess that no province is allowed to start issuing numbers for OMICRON infections until a foreigner can be found who has got it.

Makes no difference that this foreigner had been in-country and mixing with potential carriers for 10 days (testing negative twice in that time?) and that OMICRON, apparently, can manifest in an individual within a few days of exposure.

He is now become Province Patient Zero......and it can all be blamed on him.

T&G would have required him to have had 2 tests after arrival.

The 2nd would have been on the 17th if he followed the same regime as I did.

Caught it on 18th and got sick on 21st?

Timing fits in with latest theories of OMICRON high-speed take up/presentation.
