It is one of my bigger money drains, and don't appreciate. Actually a silly expense, and understand why many enjoy living in metro area, and not having one. Considering the past 4 cars, easily 5-10k+/- a month luxury just to have, without out even putting petrol in it, and that entry level cars. Our Mazda 2 cost ฿515k 7 years later worth ฿100k So ฿415k÷7 yrs=฿59.28k÷12 months=฿5k a month add insurance ฿1k a month petrol about ฿3k a month Throw in some oil changes & tune-ups, and it cost about ฿10k a month over 7 years. ฿84k ÷ 135k kms = ฿0.62 per kms If you don't rack up the kms, then that per km rate goes up substantially. Not expensive, but not inexpensive, and that's if it doesn't need repairs. Meanwhile Khun LA is furiously hammering away at his calculator trying to make it look like his Chinese MG costs less to run than a bicycle. Just pointing out a car, is a luxury. Guess that went over your head. And can be a big chunk of some folks monthly income. Simply sitting in the carport, costs, and depreciates at the same time. Car don't do nothing for me. If fancy, upscale performance or ride, more than comfortably needed, then that cost is even higher. I don't get that much enjoyment out of owning things that depreciate. I probably spend more time than most in ours, but it's still ... just a car. Nothing I take that serious ... replying to the post that implied just that. As I see it: The weight chart is used for other vehicles exceeding 7 seaters. The DLT is using this chart for EV vehicles that seat under 7 passengers. MG ZS X EV is about 1600kg ..... I wouldn't describe him as ignorant, he has hands on practical experience as a Superintendent in the Fire and Rescue Service in NSW, one could argue his experience is more evidential & cumulative than a scientific or engineering theorist. As for being a fool, I couldn't leap to that conclusion on his experience-based opinion being different from my theoretical one. Having a different opinion doesn't make one a fool.
