Top official describes the popular ‘Test and Go’ entry as a loophole exposing Thailand to Omicron

The UK seems to have peaked and is going down after around a month.

Let's go Omicron!

Yes it's looking good. Hospitalisations are likely to stay high for a week or two as cases work their way through. I have heard that there's a possibility of a spike if there are still infections from gatherings around New Year but even if there is it shouldn't last long. We just need to hope another new variant doesn't come along and if it does it's not serious.

I'm not sure where Thailand is along this route but let's hope the cases start going down soon.

but with all the previous 4th waves it was very thai, illegal and legal, as well as illegal border crossing, which brought new strain.   the italian one was brought to lumpini boxing stadium

  • Yeah you and yours where doing so well without pesky foreigners should have kept  borders closed. What about migrant workers streaming accross ur border at least test and go was safer There

Soon everyone is going to have Omicron, we have to learn to live with it. We live with a cold and the Flu so why not Omicron. Please tell me how many people have died around the world from Omicron? How many have died from the Flu? A lot more, right? Live with it!!!

We will live with it but it takes time. Vaccines and other drugs to treat Covid are coming along so eventually we should be ok.

Just looking at deaths is not the way to decide how serious this variant is. The deaths are tragic but thankfully not as bad as with previous variants partly because Omicron isn't so deadly but also vaccines are reducing it's effects. The real issue is how many people are ending up in hospital. If numbers increase and medical staff are off work as well that can mean that other medical conditions, some of which are serious can't be treated. That could be life changing for some or fatal for others.

There's one other problem and that's people who are vulnerable due to health issues. To some extent they will have been protected by the measures taken including them isolating but that can't continue forever. If they are to be able to re-join society we have to hope that there is a way to protect them.

This seems to be handled differently.

My GF and my son were locked in to a "hospitel" in Pattaya on Saturday. Both without symptoms

And I presume you are not Thai?

No, but my GF and my son both are. And they are the ones imprisoned.
