Will 60 day Covid extensions be continued after January 25th 2022???

I read about today's cabinet meeting.  They extended the emergency decree, but I haven't read anything about the 60 day Covid extensions being extended.

Will Thailand follow Vietnam?

That's harsh news from Vietnam.

As the article points out ..very short notice.

Unreasonable.

As soon as it happens it will be all over AseanNow.

If you can obtain one Monday then do so.

Your extension date should start from end of current permit.

Unless it's your first covid extension. Some offices are commencing the 60 from day of application.

My sources are saying it won’t be extended. With test and go back on, they think they have a handle on covid. The economy is now the number 1 priority.

What do you mean by your sources?

Do you mean the news released to the public? Or do you happen to know some government workers?

If the economy is the number 1 priority, wouldn't it make more sense for the extensions to continue?

Think it's more connected to pandemic situation and land border situation..

However agree that with zip tourism currently makes economic sense to have people spending money in the country.

Some really nasty people in the comments section to that article gloating over other people getting kicked out with a few days notice. Makes Aseannow look all civil and sophisticated.

Not the ones that I read.

Many are disappointed with snap decision and 7 day notice.

Back to this topic one would hope that the government would be screaming from the roof tops in lead up to Jan 25 that 100% the covid extensions will definitely end Jan 25.

That has not occured apart from few twisted sister bombastic immigration clerks.

As for the article re Vietnam..

I found this a reasonable post..

"Would be nice if at the same time they restarted the normal tourist visa process with visa's on arrival etc. Flights have started but if you still need to go through a crazy complicated and expensive visa approval process what's the point?"
