Is there something going on near Asoke-Sukhumvit area?? I think I'm hearing gun shots.  

If anyone is near the area and has information please let me know.

MOVED TO BANGKOK FORUM

Have heard and seen that so often across sukhumvit 11 on construction sites, may it be gas or real guns for sale and dealings going on. Not to mention drunk police loving to point guns at people and shoot in the air whilst drunk (happened to me once years ago). Why care anyway if you are not at the spot.

After living through the Red Shirt occupation, then the Multi color occupations, plus assorted bombings in Bangkok, I can now recognise all the different sounds:

 

A sharp 'crack, crack' sound - pistol

A mechanical 'rap, rap, rap' plus a smell of gunpowder - machine gun

A super loud bang, but no shocks through the floor - exploding truck tire

A loud bang accompanied by shaking windows and shocks through the floor - bomb

A rythmic banging accompanied by yelps - next door having a bonk.

 

Probably firecrackers,

 

Chinese New Year is coming soon, maybe something to do with that?

It's just firecrackers on construction sites and temples to drive away evil spirits.

Just some businessman firing his gun in the air.... its become the thing recently !!!

In what fevered fantasy land does such a possibility exist. And who says 'dang'? Its  a made up Hollywood cowboy cuss word from the 50s.

It's big in the ME and hot lead rain is a common  cause if death in countries like Saudi...even more so in west Pakistan where in Peshawar I never seen so many  armed civilians
