From wikipedia A sedan or saloon (British English) is a passenger car in a three-box configuration with separate compartments for engine, passenger, and cargo. Yes but the model of the car is irrelevant and thus a distraction. In journalism words should count.

Truck is an excellent example where we do use the model type in everyday use. "Where's the truck"? Is natural English but "Where's the sedan?" Is quite plainly bonkers
