As @aussiexpathas noticed from the sign outside, it appears that after a couple of false starts the Tahitian Queen will reopen on Feb 11. Details are on the TQ's homepage:

Says “start.” Wonder whazzat mean. The place was mobbed at the last reopening, quite a blast, but it was full on. Now, though? Will there be daincin’? Dunno, one must hope. Food? Before Covid, the TQ served food (“TQ food is good food”).???? They didn’t during the last Covid re-openings; no doubt they’ll revive the kitchen for obvious reasons.

Kudos and good luck to management and staff. It won’t be easy.

Open door, fully enlightened, no ear deafening sounds, some somtam and peanuts on the "menu"

But with the rumors about Cobra Gold and "prepare WS" a surprise might be due.

Sad part is these girls (ladies) would be 62+ and are still probably younger than many of us on this site.

As explained Cobra Gold will be a damp squib as it has been for about  a decade since troops were effectively  banned from partying on shore under threat of court martial. Sorry to say.

to work there......only as a waitress

beer not overpriced. before one of the fews places for fun and beer in afternoon. now many 'gentlemen's clubs'.

 

worked it out once. to go to the queen = 1000/hr. 2 drinks for me and lady drinks. and maybe staff drinks. great fun. u know before u go. so u have a choice.

i will be revisiting when open. i am not a tourist. lived here for 15 years.

It's a hang out for local expats and a biker gang. The beer there is about half the price  of other GG bars

They are not here are they? They have not been here for years. And its true many city officials  don't realise  the restrictions imposed on the  marines which is any marine found in the company  of a Thai girl can be Court martialed  for sex trafficking. This has been the case for about 10 years. The only marines you will see are MPs looking to make arrests..10 years ago up to 6 thousand marines came ashore  to party. The Blue parrot was one of their  bars but its all finished now I'm sorry to  say.

Been a local's hangout for years.

TQ was the first place I entered on my very first day in Thailand. I tumbled in coincidentally because it was close to my hotel. It was a traumatizing moment in my life ????

Gentlemens's clubs seem to be the newest thing I see several being built in addition to current ones.  Went to a couple yesterday one place said I had to buy a drink and they had a sign that said if you buy a drink, you must buy some food.  Great way for them to make several hundred baht before you even talk to one of the ladies.

That was one of the benefits of open bars like soi 6 you can walk the length of the street look for a lady you like then go in, gentlemen clubs the opposite of that, over rated i reckon. Problem with soi 6 is you had to try to look past all the makeup

That started after one of the original gentlemen's clubs, the legendary one down Pratumnak Soi 4, was getting a bit fed fed up with the grubby old guys in singlets coming in early, hogging all the prime seating, raiding the free buffet and then hanging around for hours, not partaking of any software but just hunched over their last mouthful of warm, stale Chang while licking their eyebrows. You know who you are.

A new generation of G Clubs opened up, about 2 -3 years ago especially  round Soi Buakhao  that were just BJ Bars they were not really  Gentleman's Clubs at all. The best G Glubs were modeled on Japanese  G Clubs but cheaper and less pretentious. Pratumnak is a G club area.
