Bangkok to equip 100 zebra crossings with traffic lights in two weeks

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) plans to install pedestrian operated traffic lights at about 100 dangerous zebra crossings in the city to provide better safety, Deputy Bangkok Governor Pol Lt-Gen Sophon Pisutthiwong said today (Thursday).

No contamination from oil spill yet detected in seafood in Rayong

RAYONG (NNT) - The oil spill in the Gulf of Thailand off the coast of Rayong continues to result in a steady stream of people filing reports at the ad-hoc complaints reception center. Meanwhile, authorities have yet to find contaminations in seafood sold at fresh markets and are warning people against consuming marine creatures contaminated with crude oil.

Emergency Center To Close After Completion of Oil Slick Clean-Up

‘Scaled-down’ Cobra Gold exercises to be held from February 22 to March 4

Market-related COVID-19 infection clusters found in 21 Thai provinces

Clusters of infections related to market places have been reported in Bangkok and 20 other provinces, as the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) warns of a possible surge in infections in the next 1-2 weeks related to the Chinese New Year.

Khao Laem national Park told to withhold eviction order against alleged poachers’ relatives

Thailand’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked Khao Laem National Park in Thailand’s western province of Kanchanaburi to put on hold its order for the relatives of five cattlemen, who killed two tigers, to dismantle their lodgings and to move out of the park.

CEO of oil company responsible for leak off of coast of Rayong personally visits fishermen, vendors, promises full support

The Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited, or SPRC, personally met with dozens of fishermen and vendors on Mae Ramphueng Beach this afternoon, February 3rd, to give his personal pledge that SPRC will provide full financial aid and support for all affected by the leak.
