A 80-year-old and a 20-year-old contracting a disease is very different.

 

Maybe, for example, it might be true that unvaccinated 80-year-olds have a 100x more chance of dying from a disease, but it could also be the case that unvaccinated men of 24 years old have only a 1.4x chance of dying of that disease. However, grouping both together to say everyone has a 50.7x chance of dying is misleading and false.

The large majority of deaths occur in 70+ group, as well as 50-69. Grouping all age groups together is misleading and even results in essentially false odd likelihood ratios.

 

What is rather needed is an odd ratios based on age and vaccination status, like with this:

However, even if data from the past weeks hasn't been added, it doesn't change much. You can't say that data isn't reliable simply because it isn't completely brand new. 

 

 

There are two considerable issues with your points:

 

• First, like ebice said, you left out and didn't screenshot the legend (which was easily visible and right below the chart), showing that the white boxes are "Low confidence" measures.
• Secondly, and most importantly, you're taking the IHME data that is probably mixed of unboosted/boosted data (or maybe just unboosted). . . and then, circling and comparing it to the "Dose 3" values. This is incorrect. If you go to the "Dose 2" values, they are similar, and in some cases even lower than the IHME values.

 

So it would appear that the UK Health Security Agency and IHME data match.

The CDC said that vaccinations greatly reduced the risk of infection and, if infected, greatly reduced the risk of hospitalization and death.  The CDC also released data supporting its claims.  As the vaccine evolved and vaccination effectiveness declined the CDC released new data showing this.  The data consistently shows that vaccination reduces the risk of catching Covid and of hospitalization and death.

 

Provide a link to an actual CDC spokesperson stating without qualification that you wouldn't catch Covid if you were vaccinated.

Never did the CDC say if you got vaccinated "that you wouldn't catch covid"....another absurd BS LIE from the trumper camp to go along with a multitude of other flat out LIES.
