I am currently employed until the end of September 2022.  I have a Non-b visa. I am on my 3rd year of work with the same company, I wish to change from the Non-b to the Non-O long term stay visa based on retirement.  I wish to do this sometime between May and the end of my contract in September. I am happy to use an agent.

Can it be done at an immigration office without leaving the country?

If yes, when should I start the process of changing over to a Non-O? (1 week before I end my contract...2 weeks?)

Thank you in advance.

You cannot change you visa from a non-b to a non-o visa.

You can change the reason for your extension of stay based upon working to retirement. You need a termination letter from your employer to cancel current extension so that you can apply for the extension based upon retirement. I can all be done on the same day.

You will need 800k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months on the day you apply for the new extension or proof of 65k baht income.
