Duterte ends quarantine after exposure to COVID-19 case

Feb 4, 2022 2:32 PM PHT

"MANILA, Philippines – Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte completed his isolation period after he was exposed to a household staff that tested positive for COVID-19.

..........

At 76, the country’s leader is vulnerable to COVID-19 symptoms. He has disclosed some of his medical issues in the past, even reporting in 2018 that his doctors found a growth in his stomach area, but later said he was cancer-free.

The Palace had said Duterte has been administered at an unspecified date with a COVID-19 booster shot from Sinopharm. "

"Anutin has also repeatedly expressed annoyance around lack of mask-wearing compliance in public,"

Which is more or less the opposite of what he said a few days ago!

The man is a total hypocrite, constantly issuing  contradictory statements and seems to enjoy "flip flopping" about with his decisions.

It is obvious that the only reason that he holds the position that he does is purely due to the fact that he is  "loaded", and absolutely nothing to do with his abilities as  a Health Minister or Deputy PM, and as a spokesman for the Government, he is an absolute disaster.

And he wants to be the next Prime Minister? Be scared  - be very, very, scared!

"foreigners should be kicked out of Thailand were not wearing face masks"

"many farang dress dirtily and don't shower. All hosts have to be very careful"

"Thailand’s health minister apologizes for not wearing a face mask"

And a couple of days ago he made the point that mask wearing is not mandatory!

Every comment he makes seems to be followed up a few days alter by a contradictory comment - is he doing this "flip flopping" about on purpose? After all, apparently "there is no such thing as bad publicity"!

Anutin knows that the omicron variant has already spread through the population here, even if the daily government numbers are paltry. While opening up the nightlife venues will undoubtedly contribute to the spread, one has to wonder if it really matters at this point.

Hospitalizations are very low, and most infected people stay home (or just go about their business and spread the virus further). There is really very little the government can do about.

There is no doubt the number of omicron case here will continue to explode because it is so much more tranmissable than the delta version. Australian states of NSW and Victoria are 92% vaccinated, and new daily case of 30,000 per day in a NSW population of 7 million are an indication of just how easily it is transmitted. (Thai population 67 million).  But the high Australian vaccination rates means most cases are not severe. The problem for Thailand is it's vaccination rate is still quit low particularly up country and among older people. Care needs to be exercised in theses areas and the elderly.

he is finally getting his time in the spotlight and gaining political clout on the backside of the pandemic. easing restrictions would take the attention off of him, and he isn't quite ready for that, he needs more time to put together his run to the top????. it's all about him, countries get the leaders they deserve

When you see Thais in Bangkok wearing masks, try to remember the pollution has

never stopped in that city. I remember many people and their masks even before COVID 19

came along.  That is why Thais do not have a problem wearing masks as they cannot afford

to be sick, because, no work no pay.  Remember that?  As for the Health Minister, well

better safe than sorry I guess, but Thailand cannot keep their restrictions forever thankfully,

and some day in the future, even this tropical country will have to move forward.

If the crowd of coup leaders could, just for once, announce a definitive, incontrovertible statement, it may go something like this.......

We, in consultation with almost everyone we have not been speaking to, have reached a final, penultimate, initial, possible statement. We have, or have not, decided, or are considering, to not activate the dynamic program now in full effect. Published results will be in line with our expectations regardless of facts. We expect all of society to conform.

Anutin knows this is a nice little money spinner to rip off tourists with expensive isolation costs if they are found to be Omicron +ve. Requiring RAT tests on entry to restaurants and bars. It's profitable to keep this madness alive. All these politicians could care less about their people and business owners  going bankrupt. They still get a fat salary while their population starve. All in the pretense of saving the masses from the pandemic. Sad!!
