Considering the footwear that the woman was wearing, she was able to land a few kicks.

If she was wearing sneakers or decent footwear, the guy could have been in a whole different

kind of hurt.  You arm chair QBs seem to have missed that she was wearing those slide in slippers.

Oh well the guy lost his job, wonder how he feels now?

Her acts are not great, but how would you respond if someone poured a drink over your head ? I am not one for violence and would probably not start a fight but doing something like that in general starts fights.

Your certainly going to get a reaction.

There is no excuse whatsoever for what he did. I cant believe that you think assaulting a woman (what he did was physical assault) is a good response to her rejecting you no matter how derogatory her verbal response is.

So, the message here is that women can do as they please? Just because they are female?

No matter how derogatory they may be, there can't be any repurcussions?

One the one hand, it's apparently ok for men to be violently assaulted when they do something wrong, but a woman can't get a little wet?

Come on.........IF she had been insulting, (and we dunno cos we haven't seen or heard that part of the story yet), she certainly deserved some kind of response.

If she were a man (or a boy, even), she'd get a bloody nose and a black eye (at least!) and it wouldn't even be news. :coffee1:

I can believe it... he was shunned, and the beer in his stomach swayed his actions.

He got off lightly, I have seen my Mrs elbow a guy at Flemington Market to the ground.

She was getting some fruits, the crowd was about 3 deep so I stood well back at the counter behind me opposite the crowd, then all a sudden I see this guy drop to the ground and my wife saying, you want to touch me, get up, get up, then guy got up and took off, smart move because I guarantee you he would have been back on the ground quick smart.

True story, although it was the 1st time I had seen my wife use these tactics outside the bedroom, and with someone else, can't say that I wasn't a little jealous.

You can't be serious, as others have said, that is assault and he deserved to be beaten to a pulp, pouring a glass of anything on someone's head is of great insult.

So what your saying is it's ok because she wasn't a bloke, and if she was it wouldn't make news, can you not see the difference, woman says NO to the guys advances and he later pours the glass of whatever over her head because he feels rejected.

Next you will be saying if a woman gets raped she deserved it because she is a woman.

Maybe I should let my wife pour a glass over your head and see how you respond, i.e. if your quick enough and can handle her.

This is exactly what I have been saying.

There is two sides to every story, but in this sensationalist female victory story nobody is interested in more in depth reporting.

He was trying to be sociable with her (and perhaps the two blokes she was sitting with), and she dismissed him. I wonder if she was unduely rude?

Cos, if so, she deserved the drink. If a man is rude he gets beaten up and it ain't news, unless he is killed or in seriously condition.

All we know is he was trying to socialize (clink glasses) with her and presumably her two male friends (boyfriend?) who she was sitting with and she somehow communicated to him to leave them alone.

We don't know he was even trying to be romantic or flirty - just sociable.

What she actually said to him is unknown.

Wow. Beaten to a pulp?

If she had poured a drink on him, would she deserve to be beaten to a pulp?

I am saying nobody would care if it was a bloke. It wouldn't make news. It would be assumed he said something cheeky and probably deserved it. At least, people would wonder about it.

Even if he had gotten the glass on his head and some stitches, not only the beer, it probably wouldn't be news worthy.

And he wouldn't be applauded for retaliation and get nationwide praise. Lol.

Was that guy who poured the beer over that woman’s head a buddy of yours of something? I mean, I’ve seen six or seven replies here from you by now, all of them defending him and trying to shift the blame from him to her.
So again: it doesn’t matter what she said to him, it’s no excuse to pour beer over her head. When you hit on a girl and she says no, doesn’t matter how rude she is in doing so, you suck it up and walk away. And the minute you lay hands on someone (or pour beer over someone’s head), that’s ASSAULT, and all bets are off.
The guy simply brought it upon himself, so deal with it.

So you think that physically assaulting a woman (or man) is a reasonable response to a refusal to engage in dialogue, you need therapy or perhaps imprisonment if you practice such behaviour.

I just think it's a pity we didn't really get the full story.

We don't know exactly what he was doing to be a nuisance, other than try to be sociable at her table and we dunno how she treated him.

All we know is what he did with the beer and then what she did with her feet n fists. And that they both got charged with assault (and rightly so).

Also, it was really not news worthy: nothing more than a sensationalized story.

Actually, I am the one saying she shouldn't have resorted to violence, while most others are applauding her and saying he got off light.

Some are saying he should have been "beaten to a pulp", "knocked out" etc. etc. Literally, the type of violence that could get an attempted murder charge, lol. Who needs therapy?

And my point was: if roles were reversed, what would be a reasonable course of action? A woman certainly shouldn't be attacked for pouring a drink on someone. But a man should apparently.

I am just trying to apply logic to the situation.

And I am skeptical that there isn't more to the story. She comes across as a hot head. I reckon some insults were exchanged.

You are persistently stating that it was OK and reasonable for him to resort to violence after she verbally rejected his advances. You have taken this stance in all your many posts no one has ever stated that it is OK for a woman to pour a drink over a mans head and that he should not respond. it is your rather warped interpretation

Try posting anything vaguely technical or requiring specialist knowledge on this site and 'nuffing'. Fighting, pretty woman, beer.......and nearly 200 posts , 7 pages. Guess we've done Covid to death.  Maybe a war in Europe will stir this site into action.
