If she was wearing sneakers or decent footwear, the guy could have been in a whole different

He got off lightly, I have seen my Mrs elbow a guy at Flemington Market to the ground.

 

She was getting some fruits, the crowd was about 3 deep so I stood well back at the counter behind me opposite the crowd, then all a sudden I see this guy drop to the ground and my wife saying, you want to touch me, get up, get up, then guy got up and took off, smart move because I guarantee you he would have been back on the ground quick smart.

 

True story, although it was the 1st time I had seen my wife use these tactics outside the bedroom, and with someone else, can't say that I wasn't a little jealous.

You can't be serious, as others have said, that is assault and he deserved to be beaten to a pulp, pouring a glass of anything on someone's head is of great insult.

 

So what your saying is it's ok because she wasn't a bloke, and if she was it wouldn't make news, can you not see the difference, woman says NO to the guys advances and he later pours the glass of whatever over her head because he feels rejected.

 

Next you will be saying if a woman gets raped she deserved it because she is a woman.

 

Maybe I should let my wife pour a glass over your head and see how you respond, i.e. if your quick enough and can handle her.

This is exactly what I have been saying.

 

There is two sides to every story, but in this sensationalist female victory story nobody is interested in more in depth reporting.

 

He was trying to be sociable with her (and perhaps the two blokes she was sitting with), and she dismissed him. I wonder if she was unduely rude?

 

Cos, if so, she deserved the drink. If a man is rude he gets beaten up and it ain't news, unless he is killed or in seriously condition.

We don't know he was even trying to be romantic or flirty - just sociable.

1. Make sure the target engages eye contact with you, smile, if she smiles back, your half way there.

 

2. Raise your glass to her next time she is looking at you, if she does the same, go to 3.

 

3. Give her a hand gesture, i.e. if you can join them, if she is with the other guys, she wouldn't be engaging in 1 & 2, if she is not with the guys and knows that they are not overly jealous or protective of her, then she might just invite you over.

 

4. Always confirm with the other guys, e.g. hi, not cutting anyone's grass here am I, and the usual answer will be no and then your on a good thing.

 

This creep has no etiquette, and obviously things he is God's gift to woman, that said, I have picked up woman sitting with other males, it's not hard if the female is interested in you, but to walk on over uninvited, i.e. forcing yourself in and thinking that clinking glasses is going to get you in, your obviously wrong, as this guy found out and kudos to her to telling him to F off politely, but he couldn't accept the rejection that his was turned down by a woman who can stand up for herself, he then had to show his true character and pour a glass over her head.

Some guys (maybe 2009) too have no clue and seem to think that woman have to do as they say and feel offended when they get no response. 

 

If you get rejected live with it its not the end of the world. Your way is the most sensible way but some guys seem to think they need to go full alpha male to attract a woman and when it does not work they get mad.

Was that guy who poured the beer over that woman’s head a buddy of yours of something? I mean, I’ve seen six or seven replies here from you by now, all of them defending him and trying to shift the blame from him to her. 
So again: it doesn’t matter what she said to him, it’s no excuse to pour beer over her head. When you hit on a girl and she says no, doesn’t matter how rude she is in doing so, you suck it up and walk away. And the minute you lay hands on someone (or pour beer over someone’s head), that’s ASSAULT, and all bets are off. 
The guy simply brought it upon himself, so deal with it.

I just think it's a pity we didn't really get the full story.

 

We don't know exactly what he was doing to be a nuisance, other than try to be sociable at her table and we dunno how she treated him.

 

All we know is what he did with the beer and then what she did with her feet n fists. And that they both got charged with assault (and rightly so).

 

Also, it was really not news worthy: nothing more than a sensationalized story.
