A motorcycle taxi rider or "win" - furious that his ex wife had shacked up with a younger man - started an argument with him as the couple were doing the washing at a house in Samut Prakan yesterday.

He then returned with a gun to shoot him dead. Three shots were fired.

Seriously injured at the scene in Soi Sai Luat, Soi 8 in Pak Nam, Samut Prakan was Methi, 30 from Chiang Rai.

He had been shot several times next to a washing machine. He was being cradled by his partner Sawitri, 37, when rescue and police arrived. He died later in a local hospital.

The shooter was Lertchai, 40, her ex husband.

The daughter of the house owner Natthinee, 23, told 77kaoded that the couple did not live there but had come to use a washing machine at the property.

She said she heard an argument then for some time everything went quiet. But some time later she heard 3 or four shots and saw Lertchai standing there with a .38 revolver in his hand.

He fled on a motorcycle parked nearby.

Sawitri's mother Daeng, 71, said her daughter and Lertchai had been together for many years before they split up 3-4 months ago.

Their children aged 19 and 20 had gone to live with Lertchai while her daughter had moved in with her new man in the area.

The shooter was arrested by police about one kilometer away and admitted the killing saying he was "resentful".

He claimed to have got the gun two years ago at a fesitival.

He has been charged with murder and weapons offences and detained.

HERE we go again! This has been an issue for as long as i can remember...Thai "men" murdering others (friends, rivals, spouses, gf's, parents, employers, strangers...you name it) because they are simply incapable of dealing with something called LIFE. As bad as it's been over the years, certainly now seems to be a daily occurrence. This very thing happened to someone I knew very well last year. A crazy Thai man-child, posing as an adult, murdered this girl because his huge, fragile and infantile ego was hurt. He's serving life now. Hope he rots in there until he's 120.

because most here are uneducated, childish and stupid

Trouble is they all watch too much Thai 'soap' series garbage where shouting, screaming, attacking and shooting each other is a thing they believe is actual reality!!! ????????????????????????????????

This can’t be the reason.   All those Brits & Aussies watching Midsomer Murders or similar programs do not think that is reality. Nobody is that impressionable or gullible.

Aged 40 he will see the last best years of his life behind bars... what an idiot.

Why couldn't he find a new partner and move-on.

Simple. He'd lost face, and nothing is more serious to a Thai than that. It's their culture and deeply ingrained. Which is why we read stories like this every day, every week, every month, every year.
