Rambo
I need to obtain a certified copy of my Thai wife's ID Card and our Marriage Certificate (Kor Ror 3). Can any lawyer/lawyers office fulfil this service ?
ubonjoe
What are the copies being used for? Some law offices can notarize them as certified as true and correct for use here in the country.
Rambo
My UK Pension provider has said they will accept certified copies as confirmation of my Thai wife's identity/address and confirmation of our married relationship. ubonjoe
I am not sure about them accepting a certified copy from a lawyer. The Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA will certify them. rickudon
I doubt your pension provider would accept them if in Thai. You would have to get them translated, and the copy certified.
tweedledee2
Best to contact your pension provider, if they will accept a lawyer's certification before proceeding . I suspect copies of the original documents and the translated English versions will all need to be certified. I have used a Thai lawyer's office in Surin to translate/certify Thai documents to English and US applications that were accepted by the IRS, my state DMV and local government agency in the US. The charge was 1,000 baht a page and I am sure the cost varies.
jerrymahoney
Maybe talk to these people: https://alanguagelover.com/ can probably do it all remotely for you including liaison with Thai MFA. chilly07
My UK pension provider has always accepted notarized copies of my passport for proof of life which I get from a lawyer in Pattaya.(Living Law) All they are doing is notarizing that the person before then is the same person as on the ID card or Passport. Key Visa have also notarized for me and my pension provider can check the certifying parties credentials on the Thai professional bodies web sites
Admiral Hornblower
What are you trying to do, are you trying to list your wife as a beneficiary in the event of your passing?? If so, I suggest you approach a Consular official at the embassy for advice.
yimlitnoy
There is a Thai government legal certification desk at the Thai passport office in Khlongtoy MRT station. In the station there are indications of where the offfice is in the station.
Andycoops
I had my Thai marriage and other documents translated into English by one of several companies that offer the service in the Trendy building, Bangkok Soi 13, Sukhumvit, for my pension provider without any problems. It's the same building that VFS operate from that does UK passports and visas.
bbko
You can't get a higher stamp than the one from MFA, and they have mail-in service.
