How do Thai women compare with Western women as a wife?

I have been married and divorced to both.

 

Will never marry again, but plan to have a lot of fun before I die. For that I would for sure prefer a Thai woman.

 

Correction: I might marry again… when I am 90 years old and if my 27 year old Thai girlfriend insists at that time…

Yes, the convos with the typical Thai GF/wife are often simplistic. My wife never finished school but went on to pick up a decent, conversational level of English in BKK hotels and restaurants.

 

We often watch the evening news together. With my limited Thai I piece together what the stories are about, and then we go over them. The govt's corrupt. There's tremendous inequality. People are suffering and the hi-so's could care less. Another hothead decided to vent his frustrations via his fists or a gun. Drugs are a growing problem. She doesn't have all the vocabulary necessary, but I've really been surprised by what she's been able to express. There's often a lot more going on upstairs than we can see, given the language limitations on either side.

 

This language barrier is a blessing in disguise. It prevents things from becoming overly complicated. It forces us to break things down into plain terms. Here are the real issues, societal, economic. Indeed, this is the main problem with talking to the West right now. Bring up the homeless, the low wages, the high rent, the difficulty in finding good jobs, and you're likely to get an earful about the toxic masculinity, that there aren't enough gender checkboxes on the job applications, that such and such is now "hate speech", and you're a "literal Nazi" for thinking otherwise. Hah.

 

The Thai ladies bring it back down to Earth, back to what really matters.

One of the most wonderful things about Thailand, is that the judgment level of couples with signifiant differences in age, is not as harsh, as in the west. My wife is quite a bit younger than me too. It works really well for us. When I dated women close to my age back in the US, it rarely ever worked out. Most were very rigid, closed minded, and set in their ways. Plus, many liked to go to bed very early, and behaved as if they were 20 years older than they were. That was not fun. I find younger women to be far more vital, more vigorous, and if you are fortunate to find one, far more open minded and adventurous.

I find when we are out in public many men stare at her, as she is still very attractive and fit, and look at me with envy. Women here seem to be fairly neutral. In the US we get some attention. She gets alot of looks, and the guys look at me like they presume I am a centi-millionaire. The gals look at me like I a felon, and have committed a major crime, by refusing to jump over the hurdles prescribed by them, and taking a shortcut to heaven. That is so much fun. It is a wonderful feeling to watch the Western women squirm and to witness their confusion and disapproval.

 

Lastly,  I think a large part of the equation is the erosion of femininity in the West. It has gotten so bad, that masculinity is now considered toxic. This is an existential threat to civilization, no doubt. It is me-too, and uber-feminism that has been the real nuclear bomb to relationships and a woman's ability to express herself, have sex freely, date normally, manifest the incredible dignity within femininity, and relate to men, in a healthy manner. It seems to contribute to an extremely unfulfilled female gender, and has resulted in making life very difficult for most men in the West. With Covid, things are even worse than before. A real life Zombieland. Thankfully, little of that toxic nonsense has reached the shores of Thailand. Women here seem to intuitively know how powerful their innate femininity is, and they use it to the fullest. I am very thankful for that. I think many have simply rejected alot of mind numbingly, wrong headed Western notions, that women are saddled with. 

You hit the high points much better than the OP. Your posts are usually thoughtful and insightful.

To some extent it's all about tradeoffs. For me, that tradeoff is significantly better with Thai women than western women.

 

My woman has her flaws but they are soooooo minor compared to western women.

 

I never look back any more ; I found what I need. I'd like to say I was careful and wise in finding my Thai mate, but in reality I think I was just stupidly lucky. Often I find that she knows what I need before I do, and gives it to me because she is genuinely interested in my happiness. That's something my western ex never did.

 

I have to wonder though why this thread was even started. Something about flagging forum participation perhaps?

Travelling thailand for years, but I have missed out on the feminity part of Isan woman. Tell me where you see this feminin women? In Pattaya or in the villages in Isan. My experience, is what you see in Pattaya of feminin ladys from Isan, you do not see much of in Isan. 
 

At once they are home, they go village style again, and become more religious than the pope!

'the young and attractive ones' will want anyone who has the means to support them - it's an exchange but I do get bored with the ugly, old farangs with a beautiful 20 years+ pooying under their arm trying to say "she really loves me" - yes she might do but no money, no honey and like it or not that is a FACT.

Woman of all nationalities are beautiful when they speak to me I just stick my thumb up and pretend to agree with them maybe that’s a good thing . Have been married twice never again , now I do one night stands love them give them a good breakfast and a 1,000 baht if I liked them , and maybe invite them back the following week and I’m not talking bar girls there are plenty of dating sites or woman sitting in the local coffee shop on there lonesome being Irish I am blessed with the gift of the gab so I have no problem chatting up woman they have to be between 30 and 45 and there are plenty of them around  Happy Days !

by the way having a nice car helps to win a woman over !

If you are right, then why are most of the bad ladies concentrated in the US? 

 

The difference for many of us is staggering. The ability to embrace and manifest femininity alone is huge. I know few American gals that act feminine. Very few.

My marriage in NZ lasted less than 4 years int he 90s, no faults or great bitterness, just not right the right match, too young. Should have listened to my father who when I told him said 'are you sure?' - the wisdom of age.

 

Here, oldest daughter is now in her final semester at university, daughter two (though she insists she is '1') in high school. I haven't been to either Pattaya or Isaan (apart from on a holiday to Vientiane we drove through). Don't know that I've missed much from those locations; we're both very much working age, Ms O'Steen is an office manager/accountant, suppose we're just a normal couple, no dramas. Live about 200km from nearest family member and have seen little of them in last two years due to Covid and travel restrictions, but regularly in touch, never a problem there. 

 

Better? well i haven't spent 20 years with anyone else, so how to compare?

 

Happy? Yes, no regrets.

Of course, my wife is different (as we all say) !!!!!!!!!  But to be fair to her, she uses her cell phone to scroll through loads and loads of YouTube videos that help her in her career.

That is possible but unlikely. Thai women are clever. And they are very comfortable with their femininity. So, I think they will continue to reject the Western woman's attempt to become more masculine, as the nonsense it is. Why would a smart woman want to give up her best quality, after all?

My wife insisted on being my "barber", so have not spent money in the barber shop for many years.
