Wiang Sa police in Surat Thani and forensics were called in by a man who hired workers to clear rubber plantation land to make way for a durian orchard.

While a worker operated a backhoe clearing a pond, he found a pink Honda Wave motorcycle in relatively good condition submerged.

Nearby was a 200 liter drum that contained what looked like human bones.

It had been pierced with concrete posts to weigh it down.

The owner of the land and a former local official, Bunphat, 68, said he'd bought the land that was previously used to grow rubber.

He was having it cleared and adapted to grown durian.

He believed that a female worker from Myanmar had gone missing in 2018 and this was most likely her remains, reported Thai Rath.
