webfact
BANGKOK (TNA) – Low immunity might cause Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat to repeatedly contract COVID-19 in about one month, according to the director-general of the Department of Disease Control. Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, the director-general, said that repeated infections in a month could happen to those whose immunity was low or those who first contracted the Delta variant and later was infected with Omicron. He said that there was not a report of anyone who contracted Omicron and then got Delta. Besides, someone could repeatedly test positive for COVID-19 only because dead virus fragments were detected, he said. Popular Post impulse
Did I miss it, or was the linked and quoted article completely devoid of useful information? Or are they just prepping the public to not expect Pita to show up in an election? 4
ukrules
There's nothing special about Pita, why should he be any different to anyone else? He isn't..... It's a really weird article Edited March 28, 2022 by ukrules

This is just preparation to have an excuse ready to remove him if his party wins a large number of votes.

Bizarre statement, and not a little sinister. Sounds like a threat, tbh.
JonnyF
Why didn't they just come out and say "Pita may have an unfortunate accident in the next 28 days, or he may just disappear, or get very sick, or decide to retire from politics."? Or would that have been too obvious?

placnx
Since this person is high profile, why not do sequencing of the Covid to see which variants are present and whether there are recombinations

It's a really weird article He is epileptic (using cannabis as a moderator). That is the basis of this ridiculously clumsy attempt to smear him as an ongoing, infectious danger to others. But merely being epileptic does not render one more likely to be infected, or more vulnerable to serious consequences as a result of it: "There is no evidence that people with epilepsy alone have a weakened immune system. They should not be considered “immunocompromised” and would not have an “immune deficiency” from having seizures." https://www.epilepsy.com/learn/covid-19-and-epilepsy#higher-risk It is a loathsome attempt, by the usual "agency", to get him kept in more or less permanent isolation, as a result of the ongoing test "positives" that the agency will ensure he receives. They really are the lowest of the low. And they're terrified of him. Edited March 29, 2022 by Enoon
