What would you do with this foot (the one on the right)?

The left one is not the prettiest foot I've seen, but it's mine and I'm happy with it...

But the one on the right is a problem.  That bunion has been present for at least 20 years, and it forces the big toe to press on the next toe and distort it, and then that one starts to press on the next toe etc.

I wear soft, wide training shoes, and so I don't actually have any pain from the bunion.  My concern is that I jog most days, and I'm worried that as the toes continue their relentless movement to the right, it will affect my ability to run/walk etc.

I've tried spacers between the second toe and big toe, but it simply pushes the second toe to the right!  It's as if I need some solid splint attached to the left side of my foot to pull the big toe back into line.

Any suggestions? Cut it off and install a castor wheel?  I'm open to all suggestions!

I can only advise you to go see an orthopedist.

can be rectified with surgery

I know I shouldn’t.... but upon opening this topic the advert also shows...

can be treated (very very painfully) without surgery - I would start (at the very least) with toe spreaders at every given opportunity & look at your footwear

there are also some (pretty decent) social media sites with very good information to explain measures as to why this happens, hot to mitigate & how to (not always possible) repair

Are you sure it is a bunion, and not a plantar wart? The latter is easily treated by a chiropodist.

Remove at once.

From the picture, looks like a bunion. Definitely not a wart.
