A 77-year-old Norwegian man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a neighbour and a relative with a kitchen knife in central Thailand. He was reportedly intoxicated with alcohol when he barged into his cousin’s home in Mueang district, Chaiyaphum province, on May 3, 2022.

The foreigner attacked his cousin, who is also aged 77, with a knife, leaving him with deep gashes all over his body including a stab wound on his neck. The other victim is a 60-year-old neighbour who tried to stop A. from fleeing.

The attacker was taken to Chaiyaphum police station for questioning. A drug test showed he had been using “other substances” which also contributed to his behaviour.

Well done to the Thai police. Armed man, but absolute minimum use of force.

They weren’t too rough but I did wince at the point in the video at around 20 seconds when, as he was being escorted from his room, the policeman pushed his head down and he went face first into the floor.

Still, play stupid games and win stupid prizes..

Anyway, quite a bizarre story, they should all know much better at their age !

What a complete idiot. Now at 77 he will probably be deported to live out the rest of his life in a box in the colds of Norway.

Probably more comfortable than his home in Thailand.

All expenses paid and good health care.

It is not so easy, he will first have to wait for his trial of a couple of years then a long time before being extradited which is not sure when maybe more 3 years if everything will go well. All the time even to die in prison in Thailand

Think you are wrong, be a quick trial, a guilty plea accepted, immediate deportation,  along with lifetime ban from thailand. He'll be more trouble and cost than he is worth as he will need elderly care.

If it were that simple then there would be no" farang " in prison in Thailand, can you cite a case you know that was sent out of the country quickly after a crime committed in Thailand? He is a resident not a tourist.

The Victorian-age Thai prison system gives no forks. He better pray for a swift extradition to his homeland. Or he will be toast within a year, even on remand.

Hope he reflects on his last day of freedom on the planet.

I've always had issues with managing my anger (stemming from other emotions and self-beliefs) as a teenager and man. I found boxing and have learnt absorbed through this, much peace and non-reactive thinking as a result.

OMG, we are seeing these violent, aggressive assaults daily by foreigners.

A lot of foreign ne'er-do-wells in Thailand, their numbers have increased significantly in the last 10 years in particular, from what I have noticed.
