I understand the British used condoms during the Gulf War to protect the bores of their firearms from desert grit. AFAIK the only weapons monks carry are attached to them.

they were used by troops to protect rifles from the first world war..

We used them in Vietnam also, to keep the rain and mud out of the barrels.
