Former deputy attorney-general Nate Naksuk

The Public Prosecution Service Commission decided to dismiss former deputy attorney-general Nate Naksuk today (Wednesday), after finding him guilty of negligence in the performance of his duty in the handling of the high-profile hit and run case in which a Red Bull heir, Vorayuth Yoovidhya, is implicated.

Chairman of the Commission Patchara Yutithamdamrong said that they ruled that Nate did not exercise caution in considering the case and did not attach importance to all the files related to it, in a way which has caused serious damage to the state.

Nate was accused of not proceeding to prosecute the case against Vorayuth in court.

  • I wonder if he will be asked to return all the kick-backs from the Red Bull family he received ?

  • They should dismiss anyone connected with the case---it really is a disgrace.    And there should not be a sunset clause on murder.  .........................   .

Smoke screens and mirrors.  This is probably self initiated. A decade of brown envelopes stashed away and now can just walk away, enjoy his plunder, and let some other unfortunate pick up the pieces.

I very much doubt it and suspect he has probably just received another one for a job well done!

How do you dismiss someone from a job they resigned from months ago? No downside either to being "dismissed" when you keep pension and benefits and then apply for a position on the anti corruption taskforce?

And there  we have it  he will get in his Ferrari and drive off into the sunset  poor  fella   how more  were  not stood down baffles me and everyone else

If found guilt don't dismiss...put in prison!

So ...... will he be replaced by someone more sympathetic to the Red Bull case?

Even now, if they really want to catch the heir, they could have him back in Thailand in no time at all. To make someone who is probably guilty as hell of corruption and taking bribes the fall guy, after he has resigned and is living overseas, is just a token gesture. The Thai authorities have no intention of catching this guy. It's an indictment of the government, police and the Thai people. Such is the level of apathy among Thais, I doubt that many people truly care if the heir is brought to justice. Meanwhile they will continue to treat convicted prisoners as a sub human race, while turning a blind eye to the most heinous criminal of all. How many Thais are boycotting Red Bull products in protest? My bet is none.

He can appeal and will no doubt be able to get this simple misunderstanding sorted out then.

Fall guy for now, and 10 years late.  Overturn on appeal.  Everything just to stifle public criticism.  And no mention of RTP efforts to find the LittlePrickBoss.  Pathetic coverup by elitist Govt Officials, simply pathetic.

Mission accomplished.

Time to kick back and enjoy.

I'm sure his retirement fund is healthy from all the good work he did.

If he hurries up maybe he can still run for Governor of Bangkok...

Or head of Interpol!

Strictly a face saving measure. Likely he was instructed NOT to pursue the case, and likely Interpol has been ignoring the supposed red notice, as they likely do not consider Thailand credible.

Everyone knows this guy, and every other super rich person here is above the law. Any and all laws. No sincerity at all in this false gesture.

Who was the last very rich person, top cop, top immigration, customs or army official here, who was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to prison? Bet you can't name one.

Nate Naksuk

Former deputy attorney-general Nate Naksuk on Thursday applied to be a member of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).  He's as anti-corruption as everyone else in the Thai Government so long as it doesn't affect him.

Of course, minus all living expenses.

This is such a harsh decision. A fine of 500 thb would be more than enough.

At this point this long-running fiasco is a complete JOKE. A constant reminder of the flawed thai legal system, and the difference in justice for wealthy and the poor.

Just bite the bullet and drop all charges.

Or, try and convict/acquit in absentia (no problems doing this for a Shinawatra and a questionable charge). If convicted and once he returns, he must serve at least six months (assuming this is a reasonable term for the convicted crime), donate 20 million baht to a real charity and perform hundreds of hours of public service.

Retirement funded by Red Bull. No surprise here.

What do you suggest the 'people' do about the injustice? And I doubt very much that there is indifference. Thais are sick to death of the corruption and one rule for the rich and another for them, but that is the way things are in many countries. Especially Asia and probably more so in Africa.

Disgraceful legal system and laughing stock to the world that caters to the rich. They could have had the little Red Bull sh!t behind bars years ago and it’s BS they don’t know where he is. This is just to save some semblance of face without punishing the true guilty party. What a clown show.

Damn - now they will likely have to start the whole investigation over again. The statute of limitations for his reckless driving causing death will expire on Sept 3, 2027.

Guess the new proceedings will take until about Sept 4 2027 to complete.

If all the charges in the Red Bull case have now expired., then it's just the perfect time to sack him. Job done already. Mission accomplished according to original plan.  Safe to come home yet?   P.S. The prosecutor possibly doesn't need a salary now anyway.

Good timing, must be an election coming up, some points appearing on the board perhaps ????

Wonder why he was said to be negligent in his attendance to standards of duty ? .... Mates looking after their mates maybe huh ? Same all over the world. The 'haves' grouping together at the expense of the people at large. And, politicians and social commentators are aghast when they are confronted by the proletariat for such devious sectarian behaviours.
