While I don't disagree there is a petty jingoism being stoked against the English by the SNP and their ilk at the moment, loads of Scots supported Tim Henman and continue to support other English athletes as Scotland is also part of GB. 

 

The football rivalry is a different animal, Scots can never support the English national football team.

I would go back to the 1990's, when an Australian actor was the star of a movie loosely based around some facts,  that was the turning point i think.

Don't take all you read as facts because to me there is something wrong here and again I'm not disputing he was attacked as the report states he will be returning home after the operation so it seems he is not intending to stick around to see justice done

He can not be home in 18 hours because he is on a no fly list, not allowed to fly for 6 weeks i believe he said, and 14 days is wait period for swelling to go down to be able to do the surgery. 

 

Operation in Thailand can be done the moment he is cleared for one, on the same day, surgery in UK, he would have to go on a waiting list and because they do not consider it life threatening he could be waiting for months, his mother already called NHS and checked.

 

If he does not get the surgery within a certain time frame, he will not die but will go blind in 1 eye. 

 

In addition, not only he is not allowed to fly, but also has to stay back to testify in court.

 

I saw someone mentioned HIS legal bills, no idea what they referring to, he does not have to pay any legal fees for now, unless he decided to file civil case, which i do not think he will and if he does, would still have to wait for outcome of the criminal case.

 

Sometimes, bad luck strikes when you least expecting, in his case, end if his holiday and he gets attacked. He was not out getting drunk, or driving drunk, or in the wrong place at the wrong time, but genuinely unlucky.

 

I do not see anything wrong with asking for help, no one forcing you to donate, people with heart and compassion step up and parasites normally make lots of noise with nothing to show.

 

Other guy in the wrong no matter how you look at it, not only black belt taekwandoo master felt the need to go get dumbbell but also attacked from the back, while guy was doing his set, no way to duck, block, predict or see, even if someone screamed out, he still could not do anything.

 

If it gets to court, his attackers outcome is not going to be good, Pattaya Provincial court has new judge and this guy is very tough on foreigners for some reason. Previous judge was rather lenient, but the new judge is totally opposite. Just the other week, Estonian got 3 year jail term for over stay, ever heard anyone being sentenced to jail for overstay? Admittedly it was commuted to 2 years parole, but does not change the fact of the sentence.

 

This guy and all the evidence, i say will get the max, may be halved, but will do the time and if he does not pay , will do long time., if he pays may be less time, but i have a feeling there will be time to be served, unless he "makes donations" not to end up in court

 

PS. Forgot to mention the 750K is quote from Bangkok Hospital which means can get surgery done for half that price, but need to find correct hospital, his initial treatment at a public hospital end up with hospital screwing up the surgery, i am guessing no specialist was on hand and rather than to send him to a different hospital they did a rush job. Problem is he is a tourist and 2 people who are "helping" him out are much more interested in self promotion than actually helping the guy. Both are long term expats and know exactly which public hospital to take him and can also go to BKK. But he now has the trust because they were the first to "help" so he is listening to them only and all they are doing is promoting their business interests under the pretense of caring and helping

But alot of Scots have a favourite EPL team. But as you say not same as national team.  Which applies to Rugby too.

Anybody who has been in a gym knows you don't strike another man who is working out, or even talk trash. It's a major taboo.

 

The gym is a place where it's understood everyday problems are left outside. That's why the victim is upset saying leave me alone in the video, it's not cool to pester men while they are working out.

 

If they were in a well known gym where people know each other this guy would have had his <deleted> beat and run out of the neighborhood at least.

Come on that's not fair, They aren't going to send him to Banglamung hospital or Pattaya City Hall and going further afield for a better govt hospital isn't practical yet. Truth is they want to help the guy and at the same times getting viewers and subscribers why not. Without Pattaya News posting the story + videos I doubt it would have got the coverage, maybe even ignored by police

There are plenty of government hospitals that can fix him for half the price and have specialists and dressing him up in their gear is inappropriate.

I think you mixed things up. I'm talking about the guy who does not like the English. I expressed my opinion already on the attacker. Who says I share his thinking? He has the freedom to like or not to like, I'm just pointing out why other people may have a different idea about the English. I'm mainland European, born to people who suffered in the WWII. under German occupation so I have no bad feelings about the British at all. My father's memories about the Germans were not as good. The Britsch never occupied my country they liberated it.
