I agree with you now Dave. You are right as this could be a lethal weapon. What makes it worse is the the guy was attacked from behind -  a cowardly attack and I hope he gets what he deserves.

Thanks mate I do it sometimes  not reading the article.  I said some thing on another topic which I shouldn't of done and held my hands up and said sorry I was out of line.  But we all agree that cowards like this attacker has no place here. I not here full time yet because I not retired but my girlfriend lives in Bangkok and can imagine if she witnessed something like this in the gym  would really mess her up. I don't give a monkeys who he is and that the coward lives full time in pattaya  deport his ass out. Think yourself lucky fat boy that you can pay money and walk away and not do any jail time . I apologise about ranting.  alot of things I not get worked up about but it happened to someone I know in a gym In London in the 80s and the excellent surgeons at Royal London saved his life.

Apparently the doctors have said he is not fit to fly as the air pressure at high altitudes can worsen the injury.

Haha, not sure if sarcasm or not but the attacker and the victim are both Brits. Attacker's name is Sean Anthony Daly so it's probably good you didn't jump the gun as I take it you were expecting something much different.

Yes, no doubt. Seanski Antonovich Dalyov just doesn’t resonate does it ? ….????????

Are only attacked people who cannot defend themselves just as are only scammed people who are too idiot to avoid the scams.

I am very sorry for him being attacked and hurt like that. However, I fail to understand how he have to save his eye to be able to go home??? Even blind people can fly.

I guess he wants to get in a three year waiting line at NHS.

If I was him and have it checked out at a Thai government hospital.  He'd probably would be healed here before he gets an appointment at the NHS.
