A nice touch!

Stopped for diesel at a fuel station on the 121 Hang Dong area and asked for 500 bahts worth. Whilst that was in progress the wife noticed some mangosteen on the adjacent pump island and asked to buy some, the pump attendant said sorry, it's free with 700 baht worth of fuel, no problem says wife.

Another attendant, senior I guess, had overheard the conversation and as we were about to leave tapped on the window, and with a big smile gave my wife a bag of mangosteen, pointed to the badge on her shirt and said PT care!

A nice touch.

I also find moments of kindness quite often here...

I go into PT and buy a 1000 baht bottle of their water and they put gas in my tank for free...

A lot of things have changed since I first came here but the instinctive civility of most Thai people I deal with has remained the same.

Why didn't you just buy another 200 baht of fuel?

Why did I know that would get that sort of response sooner rather than later.

Perhaps you would like to guess why I did not buy more fuel?

What 'sort of response'? A genuine question. 200 baht's-worth of fuel and free food seems like a good deal to me.

Agree, something bad happens, laugh and move on.

Angry Thai, buy them a beer and you're their new best friend.

I'd have guessed your tank was full, but these days 500THB is just a drip of fuel.

Maybe the vehicle would take another Baht 200?

Jerry can

You are assuming they would have had one. I never carry a can for fuel but I never let it get below 50%
