webfact Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 PHOTO: Bright TV By Nop Meechukhun Bangkok – Thailand’s leading survey center “NIDA Poll” of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) revealed its results on public opinions about decriminalizing cannabis and hemp and said that the majority is highly concerned about the inappropriate/illegal use of cannabis among children and youth. The survey was done between June 13th and the 15th by a group of 1,310 Thai people aged more than 15 years old in all regions with different careers and incomes nationwide. When asked if parts of cannabis and hemp containing THC less than 0.2 percent should be removed from the narcotics list and be able to cultivate legally for domestic use, 34.81 percent said that they strongly agree because marijuana is an economic plant and is a Thai traditional medicine that can generate income while 24.89 percent strongly disagreed because the plant contains substances that is not good for children and youth. Some of them specified that the public does not have much knowledge and information about cannabis and hemp and the government cannot effectively control the use of marijuana. Then this is a poll of the truly out of touch and/or stupid because before making it legal, children and youth made up 70-80% of the users. Those are the people that didn't think or care about jail for getting high. Are these same people concerned over the inappropriate/illegal use of tobacco and alcohol among children and youth? 5 1
Popular Post timendres Posted June 19, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2022 Concern about "the inappropriate/illegal use of cannabis among children and youth" is normal, and should be addressed with appropriate laws and regulations. It is not a reason for adults to go to jail for enjoying a good spleef. 5 1
Popular Post RichardColeman Posted June 19, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2022 In our estate there is a park with about 10 outdoor exercise machines. Everyday there is about 10 youths that come and sit near us when we are exercising, all smoking and drinking some homebrew or something. You know as soon as they get availability to weed the entire estate will stink of the stuff. I have no problem with young or old smoking weed - just do it either upwind of me or in a ganja retreat halfway up a mountain. The stuff is pungent and reeks, seems people applauding Thailand decision do not give a hoot about people who do not like the smell of it ! I fully predict now that road deaths for ganja will make up 25% of all road deaths soon. Thais cannot handle alcohol and you want to give them availability to more drugs ? I fail to see the logic of the argument for that. 2 1 2 3
ezzra Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Yes, they're so concern that if the government were to hand 10 million more of them fee Marijuana plants i'm sure the will be no shortage of takers...
pokerface1 Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Well it's going to be so much easier for scammer to fleece people who are off their faces. They just have to ring around till they get the sound of someone munching chips. You know how it goes....... 1
Popular Post wombat Posted June 20, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2022 everyone is entitled to an opinion. on this subject they are wrong...have a look at Portugals success where they took it one step further 3
KhunLA Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Since they can't buy it, it's not different than when it was illegal. Do the kids really get 500 baht a day lunch money ... ???? 1

So the problem will still persist. 1

chalawaan Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Moral panic much? A tiny portion of kids will try it, have a bad first sesh, experience paranoia, vomiting, or both, and swear off the devil's lettuce for years -if not for life. Absolutely no harm done... Renegades are gonna do drugs at school regardless of the law in force at any given time. In all of human history no one has died from doing weed -at any age, you can't say that for alcohol, which has killed its share of young teens. And so... Why apply calm logical common sense, Thailand, when you can fret and panic about a nothing burger with CBD dressing? ???????????? 1
The Old Bull Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Since they legalised weed in Canada People have lost interest in it. a few old stoners persist but young people don't regard as cool anymore something you buy from a government outlet. A lot of legalised grow opps that thought they were going to make a fortune have gone broke.

Willy Wombat Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Time to put a ban of marijuana sales between 2pm & 5pm
