Cambodians tooled up and ready to fight - immigration/police make 6 arrests in Samrong dept store

Daily News Thai Caption: Fighting with rivals of same nationality (Cambodian)

 

Security at what Daily News called a "famous department store in Samrong", Samut Prakan, called the authorities after seeing a group of Cambodian young men behaving suspiciously yesterday.

 

Samut Prakan immigration and Samrong Neua police made six arrests, all Cambodians, on the fifth floor.

 

One of the men, Pas, aged 20, hurt his head falling over while running after trying to get a large sword like weapon out from his waistband.

Boy, 18, and Tep, 19 were found in possession of eight ping pong explosive devices and two sharp iron rods that they claimed were for their own protection after they were attacked by compatriots in another gang before. 

 

Daily News had a picture of a knife disguised to look like a comb.

 

Three others had no weapons. 

 

None of the miscreants had any papers on them. 

 

Boy and Tep were charged with possession of the explosives, weapons possession in a public place and illegal entry.

 

The others were charged with illegal entry and possessing weapons and all were detained.

Typical Thai reporting. So where is the rest of the story??

 

Are there more guys and only 6 got arrested? 

If working do they all work for the same employer? or they all live together? 

Who were they planning on attacking?...another gang? or are they just always prepared?

Are they here legally, working, visiting etc?
