Popular Post webfact
Sanook Thai Caption: Helping the bereaved Sanook reported on a temple in Khon Kaen, NE Thailand where the monks have been running a free coffin service for poor people. Phra Ajarn Phanthawat, deputy abbot at Wat Pa Phutthayanrangsri in Phra Lap sub-district, said that this was the fifth year of the project called "Your Last Home". There were no conditions attached. But one stipulation - relatives had to pick the coffin up themselves or clearly identify where it should be delivered. This was to avoid any possible mischief making. The temple orders 50 from the coffin makers for each batch. Apart from the coffins the bereaved are also supplied with a white sheet to wrap the body, joss-sticks, candles and other funeral paraphenalia. It all comes to 3,500 baht value - vitally important especially in these tough economic times. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-06-29 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. ChaiyaTH
In a few years they will have a guy doing it from Hemp and reducing costs drastically. They always go into the oven within days here at the temples anyway, so great solution. Even better if they could use the leftovers on the fields they burn to form into some building material. khaowong1
3500 baht, approx. $100 bucks USD, can you even imagine what that would cost in the US? Of course it's really cheaply made, but if it's just going in the oven, who cares?
