Pattaya police are preparing to tighten traffic security at the Pattaya Marathon on July 16-17.

Pol. Col. Ekkapop Inthawiwat, Deputy Commander of the Chonburi Provincial Police, said on Sunday, July 10th, that Chonburi police were preparing to tighten traffic security for the safety of runners at the 29th Pattaya Marathon 2022.

According to the officers, over 350 police officers and volunteers would be deployed to monitor all four races of the competition. The officer also collaborated with the roadwork contractors who were currently on their job to remove barriers and construction tools from the road to deter potential harm to runners.

Think if i was a runner i'd want the barriers kept in place lest I fall down a big hole !

Thanks. Looks like I'll be watching from my balcony and not far, far away. My Jomtien apartment is between Beach and 2nd Rd.  Boxed in.

I went jogging as usual along beach road around 5.30am, so watched the 10Km front-runners etc.  It was interesting that most of the participants had no identifying number pinned to their shirts, nothing at all!

I could have joined in the race running immediately behind the 2 front-runners, (although I would probably have collapsed 100 metres further along, considering the pace that they were going at!).
