Extension of stay for 2 year work permit
I have recently been given a 2 year extension of my work permit (as a director - Non BOI company) For visa I have been doing yearly extensions of stay with the current reason being marriage, I am now considering to swap this to reason being employment (documents seem easier) Does anyone know if I move to doing it based on employment will my extensions now be 2 years in length (to match work permit)? Also for timing, my extension of stay based on marriage is still valid for ~6 months but if I swap to based on employment I would prefer to go change it now, will that be possible or need to wait till closer of the expiry of my current extension of stay? Cheers -

How safe is the retirement visa as a strategy to live in Thailand permanently?
From memory, was one of the Bangkok airports. If your friend's entries are spaced fairly evenly, and short-stays, it is unlikely he will have an issue. If he runs the full 60-days on those visits, and especially if adds the extension, there is a greater chance of problems. But, there is are "services" which allow unlimited visa-exempt entries by air - even back-to-back - see: https://aseannow.com/topic/1345519-safe-entry-services-bkk-airport/ ... and ... https://aseannow.com/topic/1336926-setv-metv-still-around-now-that-visa-exempts-are-now-60-days/?do=findComment&comment=19217493 -

Parking puzzle: Pattaya evens out the odds to curb traffic congestion
The purpose of eliminating the parking is to gain an extra travel lane to handle the greatly increased traffic of a booming Pattaya. Allowing motorcycles to park in the traffic lane defeats the purpose of eliminating the parking. Obviously, the mayor thinks extra travel lanes on this busy road is a good idea; hence, the odd-even scheme. But, every other day you have bad traffic flow in one of the directions with odd-even. Bite the bullet and do it correctly from the start, on all the major, very congested, roads. Off-street parking needs to be established on these roads--that should have been started years ago. So far the city's done very little with this, and far more needs to be done, both with parking structures and surface parking lots on vacant land not being used. None of this will happen any time soon--if ever--but, as a start, longer no parking lanes, before and after a traffic intersection, should be established to add a third traffic lane so more cars can get through an intersection's traffic cycle, with plenty of no parking length after the intersection to allow time to merge the traffic back into 2 lanes. Traffic is so heavy now that the traffic light cycles have become longer and longer in order to get a certain number of vehicles through on a cycle. A third lane moving cars through an intersection would greatly help.
