Here's a thing , have no problems with thinking where to go at night alone (surprise surprise) or with the mrs for that matter, But kinda stuck where to go with a 5 mnth also?

Ideas where anyone?

Its pretty hard. A baby gets dyhrdyrated (sp) Pretty easy. The malls are safe with A.C but open beach and out in the sun is not good IMHO in regards to fluids.

Early Morn and at dusk when its cooler the beach and by the pool at your hotel are good bets and you can even go in with th baby if you feel the pool is not to clorinated. We took both our daughter in most pools one was good the other had a tough time with the chlorine as her skin is pretty sensitive.

There are a few ideas I hope they help.

Read the trips information leaflets you will find in your hotel foyer.

Also consider the butterfly farm. Its not to far from patong to the East. The little one will probably enjoy the huge butterlies there, and also the colourful Koi carp in the pool.

Maybe also consider the mini golf / dinosaur complex at Kamala .

And how about the Phantasea show a few miles north of Patong. I've never been, but I hear its good, though a little pricey.

One cautionary note. At this time of year, early morning and dusk are prime feeding times for mosquitos. It's not the beach so much as it is in the walk to the beach. As well pool areas do have their visitors at that time of day. Sorry to be such a spoilsport.

The gibbon rehabilitation project can be fun for kids.

I haven't any ideas at all on where you might take a 5 month old baby, but I did want to congratulate you and your wife.

If you are who I think you are, I met you on your first day in Phuket and we drove around looking for a place for you to stay. We've only crossed paths a few times since then unfortunately, and I had no idea that your wife was expecting, let alone that you now had a child.

Once again, congratulations, and hope to run into you again sometime soon.

From what I can remember of my own children (which is mercifully very little) they seem to spend a lot of time sleeping at that age which means you can take them anywhere, they are remarkably portable. I would avoid anywhere with loud music though (Fantasey) and just carry on doing what you would normally do but with the added 4kgs :o
