This certainly seems to be the case which is a real shame as I believe it is only about an additional ~AU$4k to go from the 2.0TT (diesel) to the 3.0 TD V6 (diesel) in several Ranger options.

This would put a 3.0 V6 TD in a Wildtrak at ~1.5M. Surely that is a great value proposition for the Thai market? You can't get that sort of engine /drive-train (full-time 4WD / V6 TD) in anything here for less than double? that it seems.

Anyway, as there must be a reason, could you enlighten us Mr.DavisH? I would like to completely quash my hopes for a V6 Diesel Ranger here if that is in fact the reality!

I can only think that it would cost more than the current petrol raptor if it has the same spec. It's a shame, as the diesel is being produced here for overseas markets. Maybe wait a year or 2 when the current owners offload their 4km/l raptors for a good price:) Definitiely a v6 diesel in a wildtrak at about 1.4-1.5m makes a lot of sense.

I reckon wait to buy until the facelift vehicle hits the market, Ford may see the error in their way and offer the Wildtrak with diesel V6.

That's what I am thinking I would be very tempted with the wildtrak v6.

Also if Toyota release a V6 then I would be even happier.

That's perhaps old school thinking, it's now a Turbo world, engines getting smaller replaced by one, two, or even a bi-turbo.  ????

How many turbo's does a bi-turbo engine have ?

Same as a twin-turbo engine but the bi-turbo swings both ways.

I'm pretty close to putting down a deposit on one of these. Just one issue is bothering me, these issues with the 10 speed transmission.

A colleague had a Ford Everest (2020?) that left him stranded on the Chalong Rat highway due to a gearbox issue that the Thai technicians told him was apparently a known fault, and when I googled it there seems to be a lot of issues with that gearbox.

So does anyone know if this transmission issue has been resolved for the new Raptor?

Where do you work ?

Japan?

Work commute 1000km a week.

1 tank would last 1.5 days. 1 Tank approx Bt3000 to fill.

Fuel cost Bt.10,000......... 30% less than my previous post (I was using Vpower 95 price not normal 95 price)

I have had plenty of drive comparisons between Ford and Toyota Twin Cab 4 x 4's, albeit Ford couriers, not the ranger. The ford's always had issues with windows and doors jamming up after a while on 4 x 4 dirt roads, as well as <deleted> suspension. But the raptor might be better I guess. I would never own a Ford again.

Has anyone got the new V6 Raptor as i would love to know your thoughts?

Do they sell "Raptor" in Thailand ?!!!

anyway

I will probably buy a "wildtrak" next year.
What interests me about it is rear disc brakes and becomes that leather seats.
฿1,050,000. About ฿8k or 9 extra for pearl white color.

Yes they sell a 3.0 v6 here If budget and fuel consumption is of no concern, it's a good choice. Otherwise the wildtrak will do just fine in most situations.

I am so tempted but it's a shame they do not do the V6 diesel .

If they did I would possibly take the risk of once again owning the blue oval.

I have had so many years of taking for granted how the trusty Toyota''s have just done what they are meant to and never broke down that I am willing to give the Ford a go again.

Currently on sale in Australia, NZ etc

The 2023 Non Raptor is called a Ranger.

Thailand will not be getting the V6 diesel variant.

How do you know?

Thailand doesn't get the V6 diesel for now.

But they might decide to release it within the next few years when due for a refresh cycle.

The order backlog will be resolved by then.

ok let me re-phrase.

Thailand will not be getting the V6 in 2023.

Talking with sales and marketing people I know that work at both Thailand facilities, V6 diesel in Thailand has never been planned.

Of course not in 2023.

Nothing exciting is going on in the truck market except for Ford.

The fireworks will start with the arrival of the revised Hilux and Triton/Navara.

Yes that's what I am hoping and looking at the reviews it seems like the perfect model.

Saying that I would like the v6 petrol raptor but not sure if I would like filling it up as much

If the Toyota get a v6 diesel then I will be getting that for sure but at the moment the Ford is looking the best.

I see they have a wildtrak and a raptor for test drives at our local Ford but I tend to avoid test drives as I find myself sat in the chair signing for purchase far to easy.

And like the Ranger, Thailand wont get the the all bling specs either.

Thailand Ranger misses out on a lot more stuff than the V6 compared to what is delivered to Aus.

I haven't looked closely into the spec differences..

Do you refer to bling as in certain safety features?
