Shopee - Illogical, Unfare or Stupid

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I bought a product from Shopee

I did not receive the product I ordered (looks like a scam)

I notified Shopee

They told me to contact the Seller about the problem and if not satisfied, contact the police

No action on their part, "our policy"

I BOUGHT THE PRODUCT FROM SHOPEE!

Analogy

I go to a restaurant and order a chicken dinner

The meal is not good

I am told to go to the farm and complain to the farmer about the chickens

I ordered from Shopee but the goods were not in stock despite being shown as "Available" - I cancelled the order and did get a refund but I wouldn't use them again.

I suspect you bought an item from a seller on Shopee website.  If you paid Shopee they normally hold for few days for any return or adjustment.  If you did not receive what was ordered believe you contact seller and return.  Not saying it will work but believe that is the process.  But make sure item is not what was ordered as easy to make mistakes with mail order items in my experience - but was always my error in reading or a picture that makes something appear different.

Believe analogy would be more you ate at food court and want cashier to refund without contact cook/seller.  I would give seller contact a try and let Shopee know you are doing so.

Shopee refunds have to be approved by the seller; a formula for disaster.

Same ridiculous attitude and policy of Lazada where the seller is always right and in full control.

The opposite of what most in the West are used to.

That said, have always got my refunds, takes time, there system wheels grind slowly, but havnt actually lost anything to date.

I am trying to contact the Seller, but if no response, it's a scam, and Shopee is hanging me out to dry.  Shopee would not refund me.  "Contact the Seller."  "We may have to ban them."

Not always - I had fake item on Ebay years ago - notified Ebay and they removed seller next day and then said they could not help as seller no longer sold there.

In general, The Customer is Always Right attitude or Customer is King does not exist at Shopee.

To be more specific, I ordered a bottle of Perfume, and received a can of Aloe Vera Gel.

How did you notify them?

That sounds like a possible shipping error rather than a scam (unless your talking high priced perfume?).  For sure contact seller if you can as it could just be an easily corrected error.  Remember that sellers are also subject to false customer claims on a regular basis so try to explain everything and supply any photos or names of others that know what happened.

yes ...  I tend to agree ,   Shopee exonerates themselves of all responsibility when buying online.

Today I ordered a pair of sandals,

I asked the shop 3 times what is the size of the sandal from top to bottom in cm ?  so I could determine exactly what size sandal to order.

It's like asking for a tooth to be pulled .....    so much pain  '

I simply wanted actual sandal measurement from top to bottom before I order. So they send me the EU foot size chart which is useless because some sandals are larger than others.

Finally he comes back and say's ...oh the sandal is at our warehouse so I can't measure.

jeeeeze ......  couldn't you ask someone at the warehouse to measure a sandal ......

I'm so sick and tied of this sort of non-helpful attitude from Shopee, Lazada,  online shops and most Thai folk.

You send an email .... no reply,   you leave a message on a mobile ... no reply,

You try to ask a question about a product on Shopee or Lazada ....   no reply .....

So tied of this bs.

Well hearing all these horror stories about Shopee & Lazada not supporting buyers is a bit concerning.

I have in the past had a few issues with items purchased & always got a refund after opening up a dispute directly with support staff.

  • Popular Post

You MUST follow their procedures. Doing random things like writing e-mails or telephone calls or getting angry on the Lazada/Shopee chat facility, will not lead anywhere.

You have to initiate a dispute. Lazada and Shopee are both telling you how to do this.

Once initiated, Shopee says:

"Upon receiving a dispute request, Shopee will investigate the case and come to a fair resolution after reviewing the evidence submitted by buyers and/or sellers. This will take around 7-9 working days from the date the dispute was raised, which may be subjected to changes depending on the reason for return/refund."

The analogy for a regulat shop is like trying to get the security guard to give you a refund or asking the girl packing shelves or screaming at the window. They point to the counter but you just keep raving and raging instead.

When I complained of a faulty good with Lazada I followed the procedure. It requires you press a dispute button for the order.  This resulted in Lazada providing, automatically, a way to send free by post the good in dispute. They literally check the item and then enforce a refund. They do not ignore you. They favour you.

FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE.

This the benefits of the cash on delivery from shopee !

That happens to me countless times. Sellers advertise stock that they don't have. Always refunded though.

Only real issue I had was when a product was shipped, there was delivery confirmation and signature, but we did not receive it. Delivered to the wrong address obviously. We contacted Shopee who said it was up to us to contact Thailand Post and find the parcel. Thailand Post were no help, so we were left out of pocket. Fortunately it was not a big amount.

No, that is not the same. Shopee is connecting sellers (other companies) on a website. The farms do not connect the restaurants.

You can't open and inspect the item before you pay, so you're still stuck with trying to get a refund if the item isn't what you ordered.

I would never buy clothes or footwear online because sizes vary and I am a standard size.

Go and buy from a store  where you can try them on, that’s what we had to do before Shopee, Lazada, etc came into existence.

Incorrect information, I have had a few items refunded from Lazada, a couple despite the seller not wanting to refund. So you are wrong to generalise.

Yes, my experience with Shoppee so bad I deleted their app and refuse to have anything to do with them.

I bought a T shirt on Lazada and was prepared to take a loss if it didn't fit. It was perfect so I bought two more.

I don't buy anything online unless I am 98.8% sure it is correct and even then I am prepared for a loss if it is not exactly what I wanted.

As for the package, when paying COD. If it is approximately the correct size for what I ordered then OK. If a lot smaller. No.

We have bought a few items through Shopee but not clothing or footwear and had no problems.

I suspect it depends as it does with Lazada on the dealer you end up with.
