What is available over the counter?

People die from falling off cliffs, balconies, buildings, train platforms all the time everywhere in the world. All it takes is a moment of carelessness or momentarily losing one's balance combined with an already unsafe situation. Since foreigners are less likely to be fully aware of the risks of Thai "architecture" it is more likely to happen to them by that fact alone. But enjoy your conjured up drama if you must.

Wow.. never seen this this kind of explanation from RTP… if you are volunteering then I would suggest start charging for your services….

We got Falangs and Farangs falling out of buidlings or ar they being pushed?

BTW it is F̄rạ̀ng neither of the above

What are those little marks above the F and above and below the a? What notation system do they hail from?

BTW it is ฝรั่ง, if you wish for precision. I feel 'farang' is a perfect transliteration.

I think if you look just at the Pattaya area with maybe 1 million people in the area it seems that jumpers or people accidentally falling and I think some for sure pushed off the rate seems very high. Bangkok with 8-10 million seem much less  even. Moscow and Peking I really don't know about but they are very large populated areas. We also don't even hear about all of these jumps mostly the ones with Westerners involved. I live in a large city in the USA 1/2 the year and it's extremely rare to read about a jumper. The area I'm in has about 5 million in the metro area. When some posters argue this ( not you) I think they just want to be difficult or different,  certainly not correct.

Of all the cases year after year, decade after decade, we've never had a video or any kind of obvious evidence of a Thai woman wrestling a farang over a balcony rail. Just sayin.

I don’t know if anyone who posted on this thread will see this but I wanted to say something.  This was my brother.  To all of the people who gave condolences, thank you.  For the people who are curious to how he passed, I understand your curiosity and it’s taken me over two years to say anything, but I feel like it is important to.  My brother, Will, died by suicide.  He lived in the area and had a storage unit for some overflow items in the building.  We viewed security footage from inside the building from where he jumped and he stood at the window for a long time and climbed up and jumped out.  While some can scrutinize the security guard, he didn’t do anything wrong and I am glad he did not have to witness my brother’s death and I hope he is okay from whatever he did see that day.

While Will’s autopsy did not reveal any illicit drug use it did reveal that he was taking medications that can cause hallucinations and suicidal thoughts.

I wanted to share all of this for a specific reason… if you are taking a medication that has the side effects of hallucinations and/or suicidal thoughts PLEASE tell someone close to you to help look out for you when you begin taking them. IMG_3991.jpeg.c1d73ee8629e69c3b2988ddd8d95e83e.jpegTake the warnings seriously and learn about how these side effects come on and what happens if you suddenly stop taking them.  Look out for each other and please know that suicide leaves behind a tremendous amount of grief and unanswered questions.

Will loved Thailand.  He loved the people, the food and the spiritual connectedness he felt.  If anyone who knew him from Thailand ends up here, please leave a comment.  I would really love to hear about your experience with him.

condolences, hopefully he put his demons to rest
