Everything appears to be calm on the Covid front in Thailand. Even though the virus is still spreading, the number of weekly cases has dropped below 10,000, and the number of deaths last week was less than 100. Furthermore, the Thai Public Health Ministry has already declared that Covid-19 will be downgraded from a dangerous communicable disease to "communicable under surveillance" beginning October 1.

BANGKOK (NNT) - Authorities have conducted an investigation into a chemical leak incident at a factory in Nakhon Pathom province to determine its impact on the environment. The Pollution Control Department (PCD) said no dangerous contaminants were detected in the air or soil around the incident site.

Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has announced the discovery of a second near-extinct species of freshwater crab, officially named “Indochinamon Bhumibol” in the Wang Pong-Chon Daen no-hunting area in the northern province of Phetchabun.
