I am a UK citizen with a son with a Thai wife. My son has UK passport and Thai passport, he has travelled alot with us.  But we need to pop back to the UK and his UK passport is expired,  his Thai passport is valid.

as far as I know, a UK citizen can fly home on an expired passport

can anyone confirm this before i book a flight?

I would fly out using his Thai passport, arrive at Heathrow directly and use his UK passport.

so I would put his Thai passport details in the flight booking I think

I could get an emergency passport just incase, but its a ball ache

I am aware that without 3-6 months validity on passports, we would be unable to stop in most countries to change flights, so it will be direct only
