Naew Na reported that deputy commander of the Royal Thai police General Torsak Sukhwimon led an inspection team to watch police teach students and teachers how to survive an active shooter situation.

The training was happening at the Sathit Chulalongkorn secondary school section.

There is a round robin of different modules in the training that has three main prongs:

1 Flee Hide and Fight - designed to create awareness and ability to survive an emergency situation

2. Basic first aid for yourself or others who may be injured in order to mitigate consequences

and

3. What to do if encountering an explosive device (IED).

Better to take away the threat than teach kids to fight gunmen. Just implement stricter measures to issue licenses.

For Police that are armed to wait for Cammando as was demonstrated in the recent tragic events, is a total nonsense.

Much earlier reaction would probably saved some lives.

Words such as liver and Yellow spring to mind.

"1 Flee Hide and Fight - designed to create awareness and ability to survive an emergency situation"

.........is the FBI doctrine for adults in such situations.

You can find the training video on the FBI website:

Run. Hide. Fight. - FBI

"By employing the run, hide, and fight tactics, as well as knowing the basics of rendering first aid to others"

It has little relevance for children.

As per usual, a Thai "institution" grabs a foreign "invention", with no regard to its application in real terms......but it sounds really cool.

And, of course, they do not acknowledge it's true origins.

They really are complete *****.
