webfact
Picture: Thai Rath Yet more Chinese tourists have been detained for illegal activity in Thailand. Fifty Chinese on tourist visas were arrested during a raid on a 500 million baht online gambling operation being run out of a hotel in Ramkhamhaeng Soi 32, reported Thai Rath. But unlike a previous bust this week they were not taking drugs but working illegally. Armed with a warrant from the Phrakhanong court and leading officers from the PCT, Immigration and Tourist Police, Pol Lt-Gen Panurat Lakbun went in. The top cop known as Big Luang explained that he was acting on orders from PM Prayuth Chan-ocha to get tough on online crime and his chief Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat had instructed the PCT to investigate in this case. At the gambling den the staff were chatting with Chinese compatriots via Let's Talk and Telegram to get them to open betting accounts. These were handled by other admin. There was 500 million baht in circulation. 50 notebooks and 53 phones were taken into evidence. The customers were all gambling in Yuan. The staff were all on tourist visas and were paid 40,000 - 70,000 baht per month depending on their role. They were all detained and charged with working illegally in Thailand. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-10-29 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. internationalism
at least they should get a working visa (agents probably can do anything) and stay indefinitely and legally. As it's an online casino they can work from home, even coffee shops. Unless they slept at the very same hotel rooms they worked in. That looks like chinese ambassador had discussion with foreign ministry to clamp down - that 500mln bht are flowing out of china.

Silencer
China wants these operations shut down. They are mostly going after Chinese nationals, causing headaches for the government, and citizens there. Many operate from multiple countries. Big problem for the Chinese.
