Daily News Thai Cap: Flags indicate air quality at schools

 

Bangkok's governor Chadchart Sittipunt went to Wichuthit School in Din Daeng where a flag system has been set up to inform students and parents of the air quality.

 

All 437 schools in the metro area are taking part to monitor particulate matter or PM2.5 in the air of the Thai capital.

The project is seen as a way of educating everyone about air quality, reported Daily News.

 

When a blue flag is flying that is 0-25 and very good.

 

Green is 26-37 and still good.

 

Yellow is 38-50 - medium.

Orange is 51-90 meaning things are starting to be a healthy issue.

 

Red is 91 and up meaning the start of potential health issues. 

 

Yesterday the green flag was flying.
