Immigration closed?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if immigration is closed next week for ASEAN? Also what happens if my visa extension due date is during this time. Should I go earlier if they are closed or does it become a 2 day overstay if my expiration date is during this time?

Yes, bearing in mind that you could have gone up to 45 days before the expiry date in the case of Chaengwattana (and up to 30 days beforehand in the cases of Samut Prakan and Nonthaburi).

If your permit to stay ends on a day immigration is closed you would not be charged for a one day overstay.

In your case you could do it on Monday the 21st without being fined. After that you would be fined for everystay of overstay.

1) Yes, Immigration is closed during the APEC days.

2) If your visa/extension ends during the closure, there will be no consequences on fees and/or overstay.
