Thai Rath reported that on Friday a well dressed, respectable looking woman had gone into a well known shop in downtown Hat Yai, southern Thailand, to order 300 ready made meals for Sunday 13th.

The lady was in a car and appeared believable. She ordered crispy pork on rice, red pork on rice and duck rice and said she'd be along at 10 am Sunday to pick up the food.

She said she was going to make merit and give the food to monks.

She never showed up.

Orn Khao Moo Daeng shop owner Ai Jansri, 53, said by midday it was obvious the hoaxer was not coming and he was in tears going weak at the knees.

So he posted his plight on social media and the local community rallied round.

Some people came to buy dozens of packs, others wanted home delivery. By 3 pm he'd sold the whole lot and the day was saved.

It all cost 15,000 baht.

No one thought to get the phone number of the woman because she seemed so respectable.

Some customers said the owner should report the matter to the police.

Karma will repay her one day... some people are really sick.

Why w ok’d anyone do such a thing. People work hard for a living and deserve the foolish game this lady played… some people are idiots. Thanks to the community for supporting the vendor.
