Patong  – The Patong Police set up checkpoints on both ends of Bangla Road to prevent illegal drugs and crimes.

The Patong Police told the Police Express that yesterday (November 14th) they set up two checkpoints on both ends at the entrance and the exit to Bangla Road from 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.

Police checked every person who entered and exited the Bangla road. The target search was for knives, guns and other weapons, illegal drugs, wanted suspects, and for tourists’ safety.

I think it’s great that they published exactly where the checkpoints are so all the bad guys can avoid those areas TIT

Tourists, forget Thailand.

They obviously dont know that their are other ways to get into Bangla Rd apart from each end of the manin road !

That’s a good image. Invite tourists back to Thailand to save the ailing tourist industry, then subject people to degrading and unnecessary police-state-like searches! They’ll have them at the airports next. Pretty sad really.

I wonder if the TAT are advertising this?????

Jack boots to the fore. Imagine any other decent country that randomly closes a street and searches every person. You might see this at a rave or music festival but not in a street. Patted down and searched  by the brown shirts, who themselves are far from "clean" as an organization.

You see any hohoho s….No … it’s too early…
