Siam Rath reported that the owner of a resort in the Khao Sok area of Surat Thani, southern Thailand had reported that a French tourist had gone missing.

A search party was mobilized to find Gollino Cyrit Tizzlano.

The tourist had checked in at the Khao Sok Holiday resort in Klong Sok sub-district on Friday saying he intended to stay until Monday.

Resort owner Wanna Sanaoprcharat told Phanom police that the tourist had expressed an interest in doing a jungle trek but he didn't want a package provided by the hotel, he wanted to do it by himself.

After he had breakfast at the resort on the morning of Saturday 12th November he left on his jungle trek and had not been seen since.

His possessions were in his room - he had just left with his phone and was wearing sunglasses.

He had not returned to check out on the 14th.

A search is currently underway for the missing tourist.

In defense of the owner it may have been later in the Monday afternoon that he noticed that the French tourist had not checked out of resort as per reservation. The owner never signed up to baby sit his guests or keep track of their whereabouts. Keep in mind the tourist left the resort with just his phone and sunglasses which to me would indicate he was going for a stroll around the local area, not a hike in the jungle during rain seson.

Thailand's jungle is not anything like a french Pine forest ...

Cobras , scorpions , poisonous centipedes ...
