Thai Rath reported that a 48 year old motorcyclist on an old Honda with sidecar attachment was killed on the Friendship Highway heading north out of Udon Thani towards Nong Khai, NE Thailand, yesterday evening.

It happened in Nong Bua sub-district.

Thanakorn was found on the sidewalk with a broken neck. His vehicle was badly damaged in the front and there were cigarettes spread over the road.

A female food stall trader said that she had heard the sound of a tire exploding and went to the scene to find the body.

The body of the victim was taken to the Udon Thani Medical Center for relatives to collect.

Police suspect that the victim was travelling fast and hit the kerb.

What does an 'exploding tire' sound like ??... and how would she recognise that ?

I wonder how relatable this is to the common comment we read on here that tyres of commonly over-inflated... guys complain that when they get there motorcycles back from service their tyres are massively over inflated....

A few years ago my next door neighbours tyre burst, whilst parked (reason not sure over inflated, parked in sun) it was just like a shotgun going off everyone came out of their houses to see what had happened

And all this time I used the word CURB. KERB is new one for me.

A curb (North American English), or kerb (Commonwealth English except Canada; see spelling differences), is the edge where a raised sidewalk or road median/central reservation meets a street or other roadway.

Hppened last year to me. The Wife took her click for a new rear tyre. Upon returning she took me into town. On the ride there and back my teeth were rattling in my head, and I felt every crease in the road through my spine. When we returned home I checked the pressure................68p.s.i. !!!!!
