I got angry today, as always "thai people know it better, your way might work in farangland, but this is Thailand" ...

Some of the comments surpass the blog for sheer comedy. I agree that ingrained racism accounts for most of the recorded incidents but comedy is one aspect not to be dismissed. Tigers lurking in the park? Well, who can say for sure they are not? Ignorance can be charming, up to a point. I remember an old pedicab driver who was always parked at the bottom of my lane in Taibei when I was young ( a time just after the Jurassic period). One night there was a bright full moon in the sky. After I got in to his vehicle he turned and asked me in all seriousness, "Do you also have a moon in your honorable country?"

And in the end, what is more important... much better to be happy than to be right...

“Everybody in the world is seeking happiness—and there is one sure way to find it. That is by controlling your thoughts. Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions. It isn’t what you have or who you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”

Lots of sunshine and <deleted> mixed together. Happiness is one end of an emotional scale. There are times where it would be abnormal and totally inappropriate.

They are probably not very happy what a strange example to use, someone you know? ????

Not a strange example at all, it's a everyday real life situation.

You quoted something that makes no sense to everyday normal situation and is a downright lie.

Of course happiness is dependent on outward conditions, as well as inner conditions.

Your quote is from a book that was written to extract money from the gullible.

So ... The Mor Prom (?) app for Covid test results has a new feature.

You can apply for a QR code which lists your vaccination record.

Gotta fill out the form - of course.

All good until ... after uploading a pic of your passport you gotta enter the date of expiry of said passport.

The dates go up to - wait for it - 2900

Amazing Thailand !

They are embarrassed that you are shirtless doing manual labour.  Or ''working outside''.  It is seen as poor people's work.  Sometimes the 'old drunk thai man' is actually some family relation and it is wrong to take away his work from him.

He probably hasn't moved for the past 10 years and that was his only contribution to the family.  You just <deleted> all over it.

Shooting stuff in the air sounds way better than being bitten alive by mosquitoes in a kayak.
