Postage from UK to Thailand

Featured Replies

Sorry searched for thread could not find plus couldn't find a great place to put this

Need to have important docs and bank cards sent here

To date never used anyone but Royal Mail

They lost a parcel once (or Thailand did?)

Who should I use? Anyone do this recently and can recommend. The obvious name in my head is DHL but never used anywhere

TIA

Always have my bank cards etc sent normal airmail Royal Mail never any problem.
and in a white envelope they tend to treat brown envelopes as fourth class when it gets here

Mine are on their way un-registered Royal Mail.

Registered means, There's Money Inside!

Royal Mail sorting is haphazard at the best of times, I had a clearly addressed letter delivered here that had been reirected via Botswana!

I have had two Visa cards go missing this year. The first, sent in August never arrived. Contacted the bk who sent another one in September. They told me to expect 6 weeks for delivery. Nothing has arrived. Now they will only send a card by courier, which is going to cost me 38 Pounds Sterling, which I assume will be DHL.

When I went to the post office all I got was a blank wall. I am not blaming the Thai post office per se, but it does look like they may be the weak leak in the chain.

My son in UK has booked this in with DHL

He selected personal but at the end of the order it switched to business and llots of customs info required

Anyone have any experience of this? Will it matter? Its just personal paperwork

TIA

Hmmmnn there have been many posts about DHL - they notoriously rip off customers but that is more with goods and charging taxes and duty. With documents maybe its okay. Personally I will never use DHL (In Thailand).

UPDATE

My son used DHL in the end ......but wishes he never bothered

total ball ache from start to finish

their response time to questions is abysmal!

but stuff got here ok in about 5 days when we eventually pulled the trigger

expensive..... £40 for a few sheets of A4

think ill use International tracked and signed(royal mail) in future

thanks all
