Everyone seems to forget...
Thanks for the replies. I'm not talking about NON OA nor NON O multiple entry visa. I'm just saying that some countries other than USA, UK, AU etc can still get the letter from their embassy and use it to get an extension of stay based on retirement, without the need of transferring 800k baht to a Thai bank (you keep the money in your country). And this option is never mentioned when people are asking for advice about getting a "retirement visa". I can understand the majority of ex-pats comes from those three countries but that's not a good reason to ignore the possibility for someone else. -

Trump vs. Taylor Swift: A Battle He’s Bound to Lose
If you don't like that university, fine, a 2014 study2 of CDC data from 2006 to 2010 found almost identical figures: Ages 30-34: Among women, 22% had 0-1 partner, 31% had had 2-4 partners, 25% had had 5-9 partners, and 22% had had 10+ partners. https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/the-ideal-number-of-sexual-partners-for-men-women#:~:text=A 2017 survey of 2%2C180,average of 8 sexual partners. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5795598/ So again, about 20% women have more than 10 partners, 80% don't. Hyper-promiscuity is just not the norm. If you like hyper-promiscuous women, okay, up to you, but it really is not the norm, it's a bit odd. I don't have an obsession with "purity", not even a little, but when you choose a relationship it would be wise to choose carfefully and indications are that hyper promiscous women make poor partners. From her endorsement of Kamala Harris it would appear they also make poor political decisions. -

Advice on car purchase Toyota
You'll never go wrong buying a Toyota. I've had several, and wish I could have brought my pickup here when I moved, instead of selling it. I'm sure it would still be running fine. It had right at 300, 000 miles on it when I sold it, with very little problems (no motor or trans). I've known of one owner personally that had 700,000 miles on his Toyota pickup. The 22RE motor was one of the best ever made. I also have friends who own(ed) Toyotas and rarely had any problems. When I move back to Texas, that's what I'll be looking for in a used SUV. -

Fishing Incident Claims Father's Life in Mae Hong Son
Exactly, we taught our son at an early age, he is one of the few in the village that can swim. I have only ever seen life vests at holiday resorts, where they are mandatory for all. -

Advice on car purchase Toyota
I have brought 2 second hand cars, one in Bangkok, and one near Pattaya, both using the site one2one cars, both from "Tent" dealers, I have only good things to say, never had a problem with either, they have to keep their reputation, they are very good at detailing the cars they all look brand new, I always go by how many kilometers on the clock and not necessary the year, check to see if the service history is up to date, and if you notice any problems, like a worn tire point it out and the spare, jack and wheel brace is there, ask for an oil change too. Last one I brought was for the missus, and the dealer not only put it in my name for me (pink card/yellow book) but as I didn't want my wife driving it back from Pattaya, they delivered it to Koh Chang ferry bang on time the day after, not extra charge. -

What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?
But if someone lives in The Truman Show Bounded by Walking Street, Soi Buakhao, and Soi 6, he might appreciate being shown the larger world outside. And in your case, you've also been unable to see any non-bar girls even inside the Show. What a world where, for example, even supermarket cashiers are invisible. You hand your money over to air, it floats over the register, and your change floats back out to your hands. Many motorbikes have no riders, like The Invisible Man's bicycle: So even within The Truman Show, we have The Twilight Zone: Can't imagine. What if you're shown a video of girls--the vast majority of girls in Pattaya--working in the malls, restos, hotels, dept stores, convenience stores, real estate, tourism, transportation, supermarkets, condos, schools, hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, countless shops, and various other businesses? Will your Eyeballs (or Prescient Eyeballs, in the case of our authoritative Prognosticators) magically erase them like the new AI eraser in Photoshop? Guess it'd be futile to show you, then. -

What does this do?
They are burying electrical cables in the streets as a prelude to supposedly eliminating the electric lines and poles around the inside and outside moat roads. Without the poles, the transformers have to go somewhere.....so I too would guess that is what the electrical boxes contain. Sadly, there are spots where they've placed the electrical boxes on the sidewalks where there is no more room to walk on the sidewalk (a perfectly pathetic example of that is in front of Wat Dok Kham on Moon Muang north of Thaphae Gate).
