Scott Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 The January 6 committee made a startling allegation on Monday, claiming it had evidence that a Trump-backed attorney urged a key witness to mislead the committee about details they recalled. Though the committee declined to identify the people, CNN has learned that Stefan Passantino, the top ethics attorney in the Trump White House, is the lawyer who allegedly advised his then-client, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, to tell the committee that she did not recall details that she did, sources familiar with the committee’s work tell CNN. Trump’s Save America political action committee funded Passantino and his law firm Elections LLC, including paying for his representation of Hutchinson, other sources tell CNN. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/20/politics/trump-ethics-lawyer-passantino-cassidy-hutchinson-misleading-testimony-jan-6/index.html

Popular Post pomchop Posted December 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 21, 2022 So how many trumpers/republicans are secretly hoping that DOJ will indict and a jury will convict t of crimes that prevent him from holding office? My guess is a substantial number as many of them are finally starting to realize that their dear leader is a dead loser that needs to be removed from the discussion...of course most will never state publicly that they got conned by the con man but that is exactly what happened. But if it is the DOJ that brings t down they can then blame the DOJ rather than admit that they have backed a conman loser. The grift now is to pretend to be running for POTUS but play 18-27 holes of golf everyday while selling trading cards to the kool aide crew. How presidential. 4 1

My personal view is that they will not take that step. While the dems really, really want Trump to run, he has shown no real signs of doing so. He formally announced that he will run only because of the faint hope it might give pause to the special counsel. Beyond that he has demonstrated none of the signs of a presidential candidate such as making speeches or holding rallies. 1
bendejo Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 That story Cassidy relayed of DT grabbing the steering wheel: I've come to the opinion that he really didn't do it, but told his guy (the one who told it to Cass) that it happened, then leak it out so his rabble will see he tried. Or is that too devious? 1

Sooooo, unidentified people claim something and certain people fall over themselves to believe this is factual. Hardly going to be submitted in a real law court, unlike the IMO biased cabal that is the committee. 41 minutes ago, Scott said: CNN has learned that Stefan Passantino, the top ethics attorney in the Trump White House, is the lawyer who allegedly advised his then-client, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, to tell the committee that she did not recall details that she did, sources familiar with the committee’s work tell LOL, LOL, LOL. The committee are very right not to release names, just pass it on to the DOJ (evidence and testimony are being routinely passed to the DOJ) and let the wheels of Justice grind away. The unnamed witnesses know they are being referred to and they know the best thing they can do is cooperate. Good luck with your ‘Hardly going to be submitted to a real court’. 2 1 2

It’s a gift to the DOJ. They have an easy to prove crime with which to nail people at the very center of Trump’s WH administration. Cutting a plea deal means giving up all crimes and knowledge of crimes. The first to cooperate gets the best deal. The prisoners dilemma at play. 2

That is why real evidence is required at trials....not a bunch of conspiracy theories pulled from rabbit holes like election fraud with no evidence. The DOJ is well aware that real trials require real evidence. Then the jury will decide what they believe and what they do not believe. Will trumpers accept the verdict if it is guilty or will we go down the same tired road that it's all a giant witch hunt and donnie did not break any laws.. That " biased "committees most damning evidence presented was mostly testimony from republican trumpers who were there and had the gonads to say under oath what they saw and heard. They knew full well that they would be attacked by the trumpers who see no evil hear no evil but don't have the courage to testify under oath. 8

In other words do they want their country to be a civil society with respect for each other regardless of colour, sexual direction, etc? Or do they actually really want a white supremicist national christian country? 2 1

"Washington and the establishment" is only a diversion. It's the changing demographics of America that's really scaring blue collar White Americans. Used to be that even if you were White and poor you at least had the privilege of being White. Each year that means less and less and blue collar White America doesn't like it. 6
